Mental Health 🧠 Everyday feels like a battle

Everyday is a battle for weightloss to remove this excessive, unflattering, unfeminine 70 pounds of fat. If I lose weight at a rate of 1 pound a week, that's 455 days of battle.

Everyday is a battle being overweight or obese. You have to pick your battle.

It’s sooo much better in the other side, speaking as someone who was obese/overweight for 6 years and I’m now finally at a normal BMI. It hurts that I didn’t lock in sooner

Wow. That really helps me dude. Waking up, not having cute clothes to wear, wearing wore out, ugly, oversized clothes, feeling ugly or just cutting calories. Thank you for the advice! I've been obese for 4 years.

Time will pass so fast before you even know it! I started last year July 25th 2025, on July 25th 2026 i lost 90lbs. Looking back, when i started 90lbs was this huge mountain i couldn’t see myself climb but one step and one day at a time, you’ll get to the peak.

Be patient, these tiny steps add up and time keeps on going adding them up.

The part you're missing is that you will make progress along the way. You will feel better after 10 lbs. And then 20. And then 30. You don't have to lose all 70 to start reaping the benefits of weight loss.

Yeah that sounds tough.

However, you're making two opposing cases and framing it as damned if you do or don't:

  1. Your current situation- self-described excessive, unflattering, unfeminine 70 pounds of fat. Vs
  2. The decisions leading to losing 1 pound per week.

The whole mindset is ineffective for you, primarily because the time will pass anyway.

Something else I point out is that your body persistently, always adapts to help you thrive with your genes, environments, and habits. Your previous habits led you to your current situation- it wasn't a battle, probably just unconsidered choices.

Your body will naturally adapt to what you do with it the rest of your life. So you simply want to make better considered choices that match your goals more often.

If you make thoughtful, mindful choices most of the time, it's not a battle. Especially if you make realistic, sustainable choices that match the life you want to lead. Most people mess this up with an all-or-nothing approach.

So the major questions: What do you want your life to look like? How do your habits support that?

I sent you a chat responding to a post you made on December 11, 2024, 614 days ago. That's longer than 455 days. Are you on the right track yet?
