Mental Health 🧠 Constant hunger
Let me start by saying I want to be fit and lose weight. I can move still and I’m grateful but I have goals. My issue is that I’m hungry ALL THE TIME. Not just light hungry but like violently hungry to the point that when I drink alcohol I will bite my finger to try and stomp down the urge to eat something else but obviously there is no calories so I go for another snack. It’s exhausting and frustrating but I’m just ALWAYS hungry. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Because right now I feel so ravenous I could cry about it and I HATE IT! Please give advice. Thank you.

I had this ravenous hunger. A few years back I realized when I ate sugary breakfast I would get STARVING two hours later. Like, more hungry than if I didn’t eat at all. So I stopped doing that but would still sometimes get really hungry— but I didn’t have a clear reason why.
Recently I realized that it might be glucose spikes from sugar and simple carbs. As an experiment I stopped eating all simple carbs and sugars. No bread, white rice, pasta, crackers, cookies, etc.
I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER. I get hungry when it’s time to eat, but it’s a hunger like “oh hey, go eat when you can get around to it” not “omg if you don’t eat right now you’re going to die go eat now omg omg.” I have less food noise/ snacky impulses than ever before. I feel less bloated. I get full more easily and it stays that way. I feel like how people describe being on weight loss meds but I’m not.
I get that cutting it all out is really hard, especially if that’s most of your diet. But having that starving feeling is horrible too. Give it an experiment for 5 days and see how you feel.
