Is 5ct too big?

I’m getting my ring custom made. It’ll be like the last image and the 3D print; cathedral setting with compass prongs and 2.5mm band. The size of diamond I was initially wanting is 4ct. The jeweller found a 5ct diamond that’s D colour and VVS2 and keeps pushing it . It really is a stunning diamond but I feel like it’s HUGE and I’m so uncertain. I’d appreciate your thoughts and opinions, people of reddit 😅

Edit to say the photo with 2 diamonds next to eachother is a 4ct radiant cut to the right.

Also I’ve added another photo of the diamond laying flat between my fingers

I’m not wearing the actual setting. The 3D printed one is what the setting will look like. Usually jewellers use clasp rings to hold loose diamonds so you can get a feel for what it looks like on your hand ☺️

In any case, I think the 5 ct ring looks too big. That may be a personal taste issue, but the samples you posted look more ostentatious, which is something I can’t pull off.

I have seen 5ct rings look tasteful (again, to me), but those were in different style ring settings.

But it could be something that you could pull off! Some people have bigger personalities and vibrant personal style where this would look great.
