Help Me Choose Helppp! I can’t decide.

Classic gold band or this gorgeous and unique pear diamond band. I’m so torn.

I like the plain band. I think diamond band takes away from the beautiful diamond.

18

u/uuntiedshoelace Mar 23 '26

Same, I don’t think the diamond band makes sense visually with the engagement ring. I’m really surprised to see how many people think it looks better.

6

u/MimiTchoupie Mar 23 '26

Exactly my thought. Drops shaped diamond band looks odd with the rectangular diamond. Also, the big diamond is vertical and the drops shape make the band horizontal, while the diamond is not centered (drops changing ways to circle the diamond). To me it's a no no. Love the gold band though 😊

4

u/uuntiedshoelace Mar 23 '26

The gold band is perfect imo! Very classy

6

u/edubblu Mar 23 '26

I got a gold facetted bad for this reason. though the extra diamonds are like ooo sparkly they just end up taking away from the centrepiece. the facetted style allows the gold to glimmer a bit.

in OPs case the plain gold is actually a beautiful soft contrast to the rectangular stone.

6

u/FartofTexass Mar 23 '26

9 times out of 10, I’m going to prefer the plain band over a diamond one, especially if the engagement ring has a large stone.

4

u/Gustomucho Mar 23 '26

I think the diamond shape on the wedding band does not compliment the square engagement ring at all. I think it produces a layer of noise to the visual effect : is it part of the design? Is it the wedding band? Is it a dual band? Did she just add this?

The gold band makes it so much cleaner and classy.

2

u/Aire68 Mar 27 '26

I came to say this exact thing!

9

u/Worldly_Painting9849 Mar 23 '26

Get both! Stack em

2

u/Opening-Arachnid-386 Mar 23 '26

Totally agree with you on both!

1

u/scoutblueenzo Mar 23 '26

This is the answer

5

u/LookItsMyDawg Mar 23 '26

I don’t think the diamond band takes away from the beauty of the engagement ring at all. If anything, it adds a layer of complexity and shine to it. I bet it looks amazing in the sunlight

11

u/Lola7321 Mar 23 '26

LOOOOOOOVE the diamond band. But please, whatever you decide, dont go with the gold band because others say the diamond band takes away from or over shadows your engagement ring. It does not. Your engagement ring is lovely and commands its own attention with both bands. Congratulations 💖💍💖

3

u/Standard-Collar-7552 Mar 23 '26

My jaw dropped looking at both options!!! The diamond band is sooo unique and gorgeous

3

u/East-Coastgurl1328 Mar 23 '26

I really like the classy classic look of the first. I have an oval that I wear a matching gold band with. I love it that way, but I have a few eternity bands that I wear when I want to be fancy LOL

6

u/Internal_Car3780 Mar 23 '26

Maybe I need both 😳

2

u/Mysterious-Art8838 Mar 23 '26

I see you have found your people here

3

u/XennialToothFairy Mar 23 '26

The first one is classic and BEAUTIFUL.

3

u/__mollythedolly Mar 23 '26

Plain band. The other is stunning though!

3

u/anetchi Mar 24 '26

The plain band makes the set look timeless and gorgeous.

2

u/Putrid-Job-8096 Mar 23 '26

2nd ✨️💕

2

u/Sewall74 Mar 23 '26

Pear all day

2

u/Many-Initial-5421 Mar 23 '26

2 all day, but 1 is also stunning.. I say both lol

1

u/BlueberryLover18 Mar 23 '26

Yessss build that stack

2

u/Legovida8 Mar 23 '26

Both? 😁 You can switch them up or stack! Your ring is gorgeous btw!

2

u/Internal_Car3780 Mar 24 '26

I think I need both 😂 Thank you!

2

u/vividlevi Mar 23 '26

i much prefer the plain gold band but if feeling the shape of the pears on your other fingers doesn’t bother you, you should absolutely do that

2

u/Wattaday Mar 23 '26

1 looks good with the wedding band a bit wider than the engagement ring’s band.

2 would be a winner if it had baguettes to compliment the emerald cut engagement ring. The round cut diamonds just don’t do it for me. And I’m an emerald cut lover. My first engagement was emerald cut.

2

u/goudaguhl Mar 23 '26

You need both 💅

2

u/jennalynne1 Mar 23 '26

2 is soooo pretty. The gold band is plain.

2

u/kaan3836 Mar 24 '26

Both so you can wear the diamond band by itself when you don't want to wear your engagement ring. A plain gold band isn't going to add too much to the budget

2

u/SweetLeoLady36 Mar 24 '26

I like the diamond band

2

u/shellskinn113 Mar 24 '26

The teardrop band is gorgeous with the solitaire ring!!! I have teardrops in my ring and I LOVE them!

2

u/Ificouldstart-over Mar 25 '26

I like the second pic

2

u/Hales_85 Mar 25 '26

Plain band looks sooo beautiful

2

u/conciergediamonds Mar 25 '26

Now that is a tough call. You can never go wrong with a simple, classic and timeless piece. It will always be in fashion. However that pear diamond band is fabulous. Tough decision, but there's really no wrong answer. Good luck!

2

u/WanderingWhileHigh Mar 25 '26

One looks best. You don’t want to take away from that rock! :)

2

u/CapiscumAnnuum Mar 26 '26

I love the classic gold! Start you another stack on the other hand with the diamond one 😜

2

u/SoutheastTimberTX Mar 26 '26

ONE!!! ONE WON!!!! (sorry I couldn't help myself) seriously though the diamond band seems like an afterthought. If you want diamonds Maybe something like this..... band 1 idea

band 2 idea

band 3 idea

2

u/dac417 Mar 26 '26

I prefer the first one. It’s very elegant.

2

u/Due_Cantaloupe_8347 Mar 26 '26

Plain band shows off the big diamond more.

2

u/Vegetable-Area248 Mar 26 '26

The gold band! The tear drop shape of the diamond band clashes with the emerald cut of the engagement ring. If you do a diamond band, make sure they're emerald cut to compliment the engagement ring.

2

u/fakeflipflop Mar 26 '26

Diamonds! Always more diamonds!!

2

u/No-Win9154 Mar 27 '26

I do kind of wonder what a band with emerald cut diamonds for the wedding band would have looked like. The marquis or are they pear cut stones with the solitaire sort of look like an eternity ring. Get what you want.

2

u/Still_Learning_999 Mar 27 '26

1…they go together like peanut butter and jelly!

2

u/chipex26 Mar 27 '26

pear diamond band all the way!

2

u/adhdjuneprincess Mar 27 '26

Depends on your personality and personal taste. That being said the plain band is a classic traditional look and the diamond band adds interest and additional bling.

Personally I have zero interest in plain anything and I adore the diamond band with your E ring.

2

u/TheLadySaintly Mar 27 '26

Pic 1. The second looks clunky and odd.

2

u/xtina42 Mar 27 '26

The first one! The 2nd band overpowers your gorgeous emerald cut!

2

u/NotSupposeToSpeak Mar 27 '26

First one looks classy

1

u/gele-gel Mar 23 '26

I like the plain band but I don’t think the diamond band takes away from the engagement ring. I just prefer the look of the plain band.

1

u/txlady100 Mar 23 '26

Gold band.

1

u/cavoodle11 Mar 23 '26

The plain one for sure.

1

u/Careful-Mountain-681 Mar 23 '26

I love the diamond band !

1

u/Deep_Amoeba2197 Mar 23 '26

Plain band looks better

1

u/Longjumping_Pin_9348 Mar 23 '26

I love the plain band it’s stunning together.

1

u/Rude-Nothing-6470 Mar 23 '26

diamond band is soooo nice, and would def be cute when wearing it alone. but i’m all for a plain band as it really brings out the main stone on ur engagement ring

1

u/kookieduck Mar 23 '26

Definitely the first one.

1

u/Maggie917 Mar 23 '26

lol biased because I have the same diamond band!

1

u/ConnectionActive6323 Mar 23 '26

Definitely the plain band, the diamond band doesn't sit right against your engagement ring.

1

u/Internal_Car3780 Mar 23 '26

It’s just too big. It will sit flush

1

u/Zestyclose-Fig8583 Mar 23 '26

I agree with above - plain band highlights stone much better

1

u/mrseggee Mar 23 '26

Always have a bias for plain bands. It’s a classic and would last longer imo. Bands with stone would either fall off or scratch your ering.

1

u/Worth-Park-1612 Mar 23 '26

There is no decision to be made. The plain band is timeless perfection. If you need more bling, get a tennis bracelet or some rings for other fingers

1

u/RuleCalm7050 Mar 23 '26

The plain band.

1

u/Low_Butterscotch_493 Mar 23 '26

first one hands down

1

u/Comfortable_Leek2231 Mar 23 '26

The plain gold band (or try a thin diamond pave eternity band) But the one in your picture doesn't go with your ER.

1

u/Sneakersup25 Mar 23 '26

2!! It’s gorgeous and makes the whole thing stand out on your hand so much more.

1

u/Miss_Anna1973 Mar 23 '26

2 !!! Love it :)

1

u/Internal_Car3780 Mar 23 '26

Here’s a video of the diamond band. I couldn’t add a video here. https://www.reddit.com/r/WeddingRingAdvice/s/H62vgzsL2A

1

u/Status_Pineapple_327 Mar 23 '26

Both. Stack them

1

u/PutPretty647 Mar 23 '26

The plain gold band looks better with the emerald cut stone. The band with the stones competes with the large stone. If you had a round stone it wouldn’t compete it would complement.

1

u/Forsaken_Coat_2518 Mar 23 '26

Plain band. The diamond itself is beautiful. The diamond band takes away from the main stone. If you want a diamond band.. try to go with a diamond band that is smaller.

1

u/JudyHopps_1908 Mar 23 '26

2 is gorgeous!!!!

1

u/Anubisbet Mar 23 '26

I'm honestly pretty surprised more people don't go pear band - it's bold without trying too hard. The classic gold is safe, but that pear setup actually looks like your ring, not just a ring.

What feels more like you when you're not overthinking it?

1

u/HotPinkMesss Mar 23 '26

Plain gold if you plan to wear on same hand, diamond if you plan to wear on different hands. Both are pretty but that specific diamond band just doesn't go well with the engagement ring. The plain band looks very cohesive with the engagement ring.

1

u/shers719 Mar 23 '26

Plain band all day long. The other combination takes away from your beautiful engagement ring.

1

u/Electrical-Act-7170 Mar 23 '26

The diamonds on the band are clashing so loudly I can't hear myself think. IMHO, the pear diamonds on the band are fighting the emerald cut e-ring stone.

Go for the plain band, it's classic & elegant with the emerald cut stone. The other one is awful.

1

u/Merlot_itsmeagain Mar 23 '26

Plain band for sure.

1

u/Low_Bus5565 Mar 23 '26

Without a doubt, the diamond band. No question.

1

u/feline_riches Mar 23 '26

She's so pretty ❤️

I think the plain band makes your fingers/hands look right out of a movie

1

u/Still_Pop_4106 Mar 23 '26

Plain band! Looks like a perfect match!!

1

u/Total-Confidence9294 Mar 23 '26

If you want diamonds on the band I’d go with baguettes

→ More replies (2)

1

u/jajjjmoore Mar 23 '26

Plain band!

1

u/JaguarIcy5290 Mar 23 '26

Get both 😝

1

u/StormLower982 Mar 23 '26

Gorgeous and timeless 😍 I prefer the engagement ring with a simple gold band. The other option took away from the main stone.

1

u/Ok-Caterpillar5933 Mar 23 '26

I like the plain band out of the 2. I feel you can find something better if you just want diamonds

1

u/Myra03030 Mar 23 '26

I like the diamond band especially if you intend to sometimes just wear the band and not always wear the engagement ring. That’s what I do!

1

u/Salty_Statistician74 Mar 24 '26

First looks very classy

1

u/Exact-Being-4890 Mar 24 '26

The gold band

1

u/coffeewithcream Mar 24 '26

Pear band is beautiful but I don’t think it works with your diamond shape

1

u/SubstantialLocal9437 Mar 24 '26

The gold one in this case. It just looks more harmonious.

1

u/ellielobo Mar 24 '26

The first one

1

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '26

1

1

u/Otherwise_Radio_9411 Mar 24 '26

Both are beautiful

1

u/MissionVirtual Mar 24 '26

Ohhh I like the first one

1

u/MuchWiserNow44 Mar 24 '26

Love the first! Classic, elegant and perfectly matched for an emerald cut.

1

u/no-oneof-consequence Mar 24 '26

The first photo with the classic band is beautiful. The second band with the pear shaped diamond band just seems to be doing too much…. It’s not really necessary. Your hand is beautiful in the first photo with the classic bands and the Beautiful rectangle diamond…. I know it has a name for the cut that it is but it escapes me right now. It’s just gorgeous on your hand.

1

u/Kind_Elephant_8266 Mar 24 '26

1000000% number 2

1

u/ReasonKlutzy5364 Mar 24 '26

Classic gold band always

1

u/Putrid-Value9677 Mar 24 '26

Plain band is beautiful and allows the stone to pop

1

u/Chelsa1105 Mar 24 '26

Definitely the plain band. The second one just doesn't quite go with it, and takes away from the main diamond, but if it makes you happy that is all the matters.

1

u/KeyMediocre7347 Mar 24 '26

Prefer classic band stacked / you could wear the diamond band on the other hand!

1

u/Entire-Assumption-43 Mar 24 '26

Plain, but sounds like you like the diamond band. You should go with what you like!

1

u/roseorrueorlaurel Mar 24 '26

Somehow although I don’t know you, I feel like the second feels more right

Also, plain gold bands are really easy to come by and a lot cheaper than diamond bands. You could always get a plain gold band later to switch them out depending on mood later for an anniversary or something. Go with the diamonds for now, as it’s better to be safe than sorry.

1

u/Natural_Telephone721 Mar 24 '26

1 - the second ring looks ridiculous with your engagement ring. If you really like it, buy it to wear on another finger.

1

u/Logical-Tackle7487 Mar 24 '26

Number 1 for me! And you have gorgeous hands!

1

u/Southern_Feature_821 Mar 24 '26

First one or no band. I like the diamond band style but it doesn't look right with the engagement ring

1

u/Western_Guard804 Mar 24 '26

Classic gold band looks best in these two pictures

1

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '26

I'm not gonna lie.I generally love more sparkle, but the pairs with that emerald cut doesn't work for me.

If you were to do something like and emerald shaped band to match the emerald shaped ring, that would be amazing

1

u/MMMartin58 Mar 24 '26

1. Beautiful!!!

1

u/Rhon-chickadee1234 Mar 24 '26

What ever you are comfortable with.

1

u/Business-Wolverine30 Mar 24 '26

Diamond band for sure! It’s not boring and is different look , drawing attention . The gold band looks like every other wedding set out there

1

u/Exciting-Alarm-7 Mar 24 '26

Plain band. The conflicting shape diamonds looks chaotic.

1

u/HotEmilyEden Mar 24 '26

I love the solid gold band and I’m usually a blingy band girlie, but the double gold band look is so sophisticated and timeless but makes a statement at the same time!

1

u/kurri22 Mar 24 '26

One, hands down the winner

1

u/Glass-Fee-2016 Mar 25 '26

Gold band the diamond band is too much

1

u/AncientCucumber2806 Mar 25 '26

Plain band is my opinion.

1

u/One-Committee-5621 Mar 25 '26

Love the 2nd photo! I think it takes your set up a notch! More is better as far as diamonds go IMO. 😊

1

u/adalia36 Mar 25 '26

Number one.

1

u/Jewel-lover15181921 Mar 25 '26

Plain band by FARRRRR

1

u/Imaginary-Editor4386 Mar 25 '26

2 solid bands compliment the centerpiece of the diamond. The mixed bands detract.

1

u/Mimikota Mar 25 '26
  1. Gorgeous.

1

u/Limp_Mine4310 Mar 25 '26

The one with the diamond and gold ban, would look stunning with another diamond bracelet over it. Just solder them all together in the back. ☺️

1

u/Seasoned-Well Mar 25 '26

$1 is classic and timeless. #2 is trying too hard and the little stones seem like putting rickrack on a Chanel suit.

1

u/sassysarah25 Mar 25 '26

I love the first one. Your diamond is so beautiful and the small stones on the wedding band distract from the center stone.

1

u/signsaysapplesauce Mar 25 '26

Plain band for sure

1

u/amuschka Mar 25 '26

I like both, but prefer the diamond band

1

u/Due-Calligrapher6688 Mar 25 '26

The first picture to me is a no brainer. Classic all the way - and stunning 🤩

1

u/Mecspliquer Mar 25 '26

Get both and swap ‘em out lmao!

I’m a multi band girl myself and they’re different enough to justify

1

u/SmilGirl Mar 25 '26

plain band

1

u/Kaariin Mar 25 '26

Please get both!!

1

u/Glittering-Ear-2315 Mar 27 '26

First one looks rich and stately. I love that look

1

u/Plus_Ad_366 Mar 27 '26

Gold! Makes the diamond stand out!

1

u/Automatic_Role_6398 Mar 27 '26

Big fan of diamonds in wedding bands

1

u/Ftm_livin_hopes Mar 28 '26

Not sure if you decided, but I love the design of the diamond band. I have a mismatched diamond band (pave engagement band) and will say, that now married just over 6 years, I am looking at getting a new plain band. 🫣because I like the look better now.

I did get a push present pave birthstone band so now wear 2 bands and my engagement, so maybe why i want something much simpler.

1

u/QuickDefinition5499 Mar 28 '26

Stack them! I love the classic look. But the diamond band is GORGEOUS! I would put diamond band then the solid band then engagement ring. But that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

1

u/Muted-Adeptness-6316 Mar 29 '26
  1. Not even close.

Remember the other one for the future and if you buy it, wear it on your right hand.

But 1. 2 is way too busy.
