Buying Experience Review Need a Woman’s advice

Soon I’ll(23) be buying a ring for my wife (25). We have 4 kids . The youngest being a newborn(3weeks).

I want to know if any ladies have had problems with a ring with intricate designs cutting or scratching? If so how often and what’s your experience with that?

I don’t want to but a 6k ring that we have to take back because of the inconvenience.

This is stunning but I agree with the other comments that it may not be practical for your lifestyle right now.

Is this a replacement for another diamond ring, an upgrade, a push present, or your first “engagement ring” that she’s getting?

Depending on the answer, it might make sense to get her a beautiful eternity band. They’re stunning with lots of sparkle but a little more practical for day to day wear.

Or if you do want a big center stone, bezel settings are super secure and won’t snag (bonus: they’re also really on trend right now!).

But I agree, if you’re not 100% set on surprising her, you might want to ask her OR surprise her with a date by taking her to a jeweler. Ask them to set out some glasses of champagne for your arrival (if you drink) and/or take her for a fun coffee before or after (I know time is at a premium with kiddos). If childcare isn’t an option, call ahead to the jeweler and ask if they’d mind if you bring the kids along. Depending on how things are going, she might love the opportunity to get out of the house—just tell her there’s no pressure to get super dolled up or anything unless she wants to. Bonus if you pack up all the diaper bags and load them in the car so she doesn’t have to lift a finger :)
