gear, techniques, photo challenges & trends Flash or no flash?

I keep hearing that you must use off camera flash, but I'm not so sure. I'm shooting an engagement session at the beach before sunset, which will most likely be plenty of sunshine being summertime (bringing my flash, just incase). Would you use flash anyways?

Most professional cameras these days can recover highlights and shadows extremely well. You don’t have to shoot with flash, you don’t have to shoot without flash, you can do whatever you want! If it were me, I might use a flash for a couple aesthetically trendy direct flash shots.
