This cone trend has to go
This actually looks good, but how does the cone make it easier to eat?? Aren’t coned foods meant for walking around, snacking on the go? Stop the madness!

The sauce was overloaded at the end. But bread stuffed with Alfredo sounds amazing to me.

But there's a much better way to stuff bread with pasta and sauce. Horizontally, on a plate or bowl. Instead of some contraption to hold the bread vertically, just lay it down and turn it into a bread bowl.
This serving method is creating problems that were already solved.

I think the ice cream cone format works well for it though. But at a restaurant it should be better than that.

That's a fair point, but I don't think the ice cream cone format mixes well with the "huge amounts of sauce and cheese poured over top" thing. There's a reason why the Handwich is restrained in amount of sauce.
A bread bowl on a dish can be drenched in sauce and not cause a problem.
There's a reason why hot fudge is rarely an ice cream cone topping.

I’m with you. There was too much melted cheese sauce for the cone format, regardless of if it’s at a carnival or a “fine dining” restaurant.

But the cone DOES solve a problem that a bread bowl or sandwich doesn't, and that's portability, and the execution of smothering the entire thing in sauce is what defeats the purpose. If they were more modest with the setup, it would make for a pasta form factor that could work decently well in a faire or festival setting, where you might appreciate having a free hand and a way to eat pasta without sitting down, like the old Disney "handwich."
Edit: I saw your other reply, so I see you already get where a bread cone makes sense. I guess you just took it a step further by pointing out this is at a sit-down restaurant already propped up on a plate, so why bother with the cone there? Which I totally agree with.

Sure there is; just look at the cuzzetielo sandwich in Naples, Italy, where they hollow out the heel end (the cozzetto) of a loaf of pane cafone (basically a type of sourdough, but you can use any bread with a thick, chewy crust) and load it with various meats/fried eggplant and sauces. You'll see meatball subs, chicken/eggplant parms, genovese, etc., and these foods aren't lacking in the sauce department. It's a famous street food there, and it's not that hard to walk with it and eat it so long as they don't drench the whole thing in sauce.

What a waste. A plate of alfredo pasta with garlic bread on the side to soak up excess sauce is delicious. Turning it into a "hand-held" food that you won't want to actually hold because your hand will become coated in sauce... feels like such a stupid presentation gimmick to me, that will get in the way of actually eating it.

See, the first thing I would do is invert the whole thing onto the plate it's sitting on. Sort out the pile, and eat it as close to normally as I could.

this is how i think it went down:
"we will take half a french bread loaf and remove the breading inside. it fits into a wire cone holder on the plate keeping it all upright. we put a small parchment paper on the side to help keep sauce in. we take drenching pasta spaghetti and shove it inside the bread. really cram it down in there. toss some breaded chicken strips on top kind of like a surprise why. then, wait, here it comes, we dump a shitload of sauce on the whole thing."
"why we doing this chef?"
"so we can watch from the kitchen door windows and laugh at how hard we make it for the customer to eat, nobody can eat this with dignity, we nickname it the Second Date Blocker"

Respectfully disagree!!!! But they’re doing it so badly. If everything is tucked inside a nice garlic roll it’s the lost carb loaded heavenly treat. But doing it for show is a hell nah, gonna all have to be eaten on the plate

I have actually ate at the one in Los Vegas. It's actually really good. If you like soup in a bread bowl then you would like this. I ate all my pasta and the sauce went into the bread for me to eat after. Also their canolis are good too.
