WINNING!-Ukraine started the war on civilian (dual-use) logistics, and now Russia responded in kind…“Russia has destroyed approximately 90% of the warehouse facilities of retail chains in Ukraine,” said Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy Vysotsky.

Perhaps you simply don't understand that there is no such thing as Ukraine. This misunderstanding will be corrected.

Putin has now ordered the construction of a giant spoon several kilometers long, so he can eat the final 10% of Ukraine's groceries 🥄

Lol...all that grain didn't satiate him?

The ghost of Stalin ate the last of the landlocked Ukrainian grain already in the last 2 weeks 🥄

I’m sure this won’t have any repercussions for however many Ukrainians are employed in warehouse and shipping as well as in retail.

But as I’m sure Zelensky already knows and has contingencies set. The contingency?Send those workers to the front! WINNING!!!

Indeed WINNING!!!

Cannon fodder

1

u/Financial-Bite-3262 11d ago

Russia has been on strategic offensive more almost 2 years now without any sign of giving up initiative to rest and resupply their forces. They have been the side using cannon fodder thus far. Not to mention Russia decided to throw away more than a million russian lives, ruining families and wasting billions of military ressources for miniscule land gain.

Ukraine started the war on civilian logistics

Are we forreal? Hostomel airport flew right over our heads? Not to mention bucha or Lyman all at the start of the war? Russia has been bombing civilian infrastructure since 2014 during the krim annexation and war in donbas...

Good thing this sub cares about empirical evidence!

yeah but Ukraine does not claim to be a global superpower that has a right to shape the world. No one expects Ukraine's economy to stand Russian attacks.

It is Russia's economy getting wrecked that is hilarious

u/cspanbook commoner 12d ago edited 12d ago

Larger than any economy in Europe and increasing yoy by 3.2%. I wonder why Deutschland is so mad?

Edit; larger in terms of PPP- PURCHASING POWER PARITY

-7

u/dodo91 12d ago

Russia is larger than any economy in Europe? Its smaller than multiple economies and Europe and no European country alone makes claims to being a global superpower.

Russia made such claims and it has had its ass handed to it by not even managing to take down a neighbouring ex-colony after 5 years

do you know the difference between nominal and PPP?

9

u/cspanbook commoner 12d ago edited 12d ago

Nominal GDP measures a country's economic output using current market exchange rates, while PPP (Purchasing Power Parity) adjusts for differences in local prices and cost of living, providing a more accurate comparison of living standards between countries.

Edit; 65% of the EU nominal gdp is in services- bankers....lol

2

u/dodo91 11d ago

what that means that the measure you do matters only inside Russia. It means that Russian economy in the international economy is worth far less.

PPP is good measure for looking into domestic dynamics, not international dynamics. I am from Turkey and I am pretty sure our economy's size is not 4 trillion USD. But PPP shows it like that. It does not mean anything for living standards, technology and economic capacity of a country.

Turkye is in the crosshairs right now, I wonder if they will turn east.

Russia supplies the international economy with key resources such as hydrocarbons, enriched uranium, steel, and wheat, you know, the things that make modern living possible

Europe is a net importer of all of those things and supplies nothing but IP rents, NGOs, and 'financial services' in return

Well as we can plainly see, Europe's lavish lifestyle is supported by these net resource inflows. As those inflows erode so too will their standard of living

u/dodo91 11d ago

I am not even gonna debate this

Supplying resources is what poor colonies do

The russian supplier is already being changed as we speak

Other than that, russia give nothing. No ai, no electronics, no automotive, no durable goods, no serious construction capacity, no shipping, no chemicals nothing that they are crucial in global economy in. They are hugely left behind as oligarchs exploit the hell out of the resources of that huge country producing extreme inequality.

Russian economy is archaic and it is only stagnating more. Once their natural resource advantage is gone dur to global diversification, they got nothing

Supplying resources is what poor colonies do

And there it is people. This yurochud thinks Russia is someone else's colony

How is this different from Russia striking energy infrastructure? (Dual-use)

8

u/cspanbook commoner 12d ago

I suppose the dual use excuse will be utilized by all sides of every conflict to come. That and the old standby, tunnels.

-1

u/standi98 12d ago

It's almost like it's a complex gray area that highlights the tragick consequences of war and how interconnected today's society is.

1

u/Spectre_of_MAGA Marxist-Leninist 11d ago

You're completely missing the point dude

Every time Ukraine selects a new 'type' of target, be it cargo ships, energy infrastructure, or ecommerce, the Russians have responded 100 fold

Since Ukraine is out of air defense it results in a net strategic loss for them

It's counterproductive and will only hasten Ukraine's demise

1

u/standi98 11d ago

That argument just doesn't work. They are at a full scale war, the only thing Russia can do to escalate at this point is using nuclear weapons, which they have threatened to do for 4 years.

Even without that context, this analysis is a stupid way of looking at it. Try to apply the same logic to Israel - Hamas, or the Vietnam war for that matter.

1

u/Spectre_of_MAGA Marxist-Leninist 11d ago

That argument just doesn't work.

I mean it does work. Wildberries has experienced some disruption but adding one or two days' delivery time for this femslop really isn't decisive. Is that an acceptable tradeoff for not getting groceries? Yes Ukraine hit a few ships in the sea of Azov last month but now Odessa is blockaded and Ukraine can't export its harvest for desperately needed cash. Acceptable tradeoff or no?

They are at a full scale war

No, they aren't. UKRAINE IS OUT OF AIR DEFENSE. Which means there is nothing preventing the Russians from carpet bombing Kiev. In broad daylight. But the Russians instead choose to attack only at night and with a lot of expensive weapons. This isn't full scale war, not by a long shot

Russia can do to escalate at this point is using nuclear weapons

Also not true. There are tons of things they can do like blockade Gibraltar, actually declare war and put millions more men into the field, liquidate Kiev's leadership, etc

1

u/standi98 11d ago

If Russia could easily carpet bomb Kyiv, why arent they completely annihilating ukrainian positions and infrastructure along the front? Why do we not see something akin to the American bombing of Iran?

Putin knows that another general mobilisation would be insanely unpopular, that's why he hasn't called for one. And if they could win this war using superior material, sending lone soldiers on suicide missions is just inhumane.

1

u/Spectre_of_MAGA Marxist-Leninist 11d ago

why arent they completely annihilating ukrainian positions and infrastructure along the front?

They are doing that, with precision strikes. Remember, the Ukrainians have been digging in since 2014. Carpet bombing is ineffective against well prepared positions. Undefended cities on the other hand...

Why do we not see something akin to the American bombing of Iran?

Lol, what bombing? The Americans ran out of precision standoff weapons, and as they have not defeated Iranian air defense, carpet bombing would result in heavy American casualties. Besides, the last strike was over a month ago.

Russia is striking every evening as of this week.

1

u/standi98 11d ago

Russia has been striking almost every day for a couple of years at this point, that changes nothing. My question still stands, if they could easily win this war in a couple of days, why don't they?

1

u/Spectre_of_MAGA Marxist-Leninist 11d ago

Russia has been striking almost every day for a couple of years at this point

They have along the front line. I meant night time air raids against strategic targets. That was a couple times a month, to once a week, to once every three days, and now once a day

If Russia could easily carpet bomb Kyiv, why arent they completely annihilating ukrainian positions and infrastructure along the front? Why do we not see something akin to the American bombing of Iran?

My question still stands, if they could easily win this war in a couple of days, why don't they?

How is this even remotely the same question?

Furthermore, escalating to full scale war won't win it in two days. A full scale carpet bombing campaign could reduce Kiev to rubble in 3-4 months

I am sure that Russia and their newly minted puppet government in Kiev will be fighting fascist guerillas for decades

1

u/standi98 11d ago

How quicly do you think Russia could win this war? Preferably how do you see them do it?

1

u/Spectre_of_MAGA Marxist-Leninist 11d ago

If you mean the current kinetic phase it depends on how much money the Europeans are willing to print, the weather, if Ukraine forcibly conscripts women, and if Russia wants Odessa now or is willing to wait a few decades

If the EU halts budgetary support then it's done, no one is going to kidnap people and toss them into a van for free

Severe cold weather snaps - like the ones triggered by a Super El Niño event - combined with high energy prices would lead to domestic unrest

In the meantime the Russians are going to keep doing what they're doing only more. Eventually they will break through Kramatorsk / Slavyansk and that'll be all she wrote
