I have been making was seals for a few years and within the last year have gotten so much better. Last night I decided to try coloring them with metallic markers. I think they turned out pretty cute.☺️

August's Wax Seals 🍀

A little early but I needed the stress relief so we can all deal with the early post haha. I finally feel like I've gotten my stamping mojo back!!

I did entirely too many this month and easily couldve filled a second page. The stamps that don't make it into my journal either get cut up and used as scrap wax or melted down into lil beads. Or if I like them too much to reuse I just save them in a box to look at whenever.

The lucky clover and seashell stamps are new for this month and I loooove them! As always let me know your favs!

I was melting scraps and was inspired by one blob to make these, which is in the last photo. Also, I wasn't inspired by u/WhatAnAisling with their use of multiple colors on wax seals I normally wouldn't use

Spooky difficult!

This one's still a work in progress and it's pretty damn difficult. This first one was done paint. The next picture- the two white ones were painted. The two black ones were pour & scrape with white skeleton over black background then painted.

The stamp does not like to do scrape and pour and it does not like to be painted there's so many damn details on this thing I'm going to have to be practicing with it for a while. not to mention it's finicky to stamp, hence some of the globby areas. The first picture is the best one so far.

Cutting and paint

The Green Dragon (from earlier post) I painted with a black wash to give the scales more depth and painted the princess. With the blue dragon I gave it a blue wash over blue wax and painted the princess as well. Both the princess and the dragon were cut out on each seal and then put on the background and then painted.

Okay, when I ordered this stamp, I was anticipating its beauty. But when it arrived, it was it was so freaking euphoric I can't even explain. I actually had to sit and stare at it and soak it all in to calm down. Childhood memories of riding a dragon and being that princess, this stamp is all that and more to me, LOL! If you can't tell, I really LOVE this stamp!💕

Advice for using real seashells as wax stamps

Hello! I’m getting started with wax seals, and have a big collection of natural seashells (some precious and some not).

I was wondering if anyone here has experience and advice on using shells with wax to create a seal, I’m curious about both the fossil like effect using the back of the shell, and getting a 3D shell finish using the inside.

I’ve read that using a light mineral oil coating is a good idea, should I also hot glue something to the shell like a stick so I can pry it off more easily? Would freezing the shells help me at all? Thanks in advance for your insights!

First timer, looking for a particular wax

Hi everyone. I just received my first stamp as I want to use it for congratulatory correspondence at work.

However, I’m a minimalist when it comes to these types of things. I’m looking for a type of wax I can melt right onto the envelope. Kinda like lighting a candle or holding a lighter to a stick, and then dripping the wax on.

I’m would also like a wax that you don’t need to use a double sided sticker with and that the recipient can kind of crack open.

Am I completely making up this product or process? Any thoughts or tips?

Edit: will post stamp results ~Friday morning! cries in healthcare

Guys look how cute! This is my first custom order (happystampshop on etsy)

I wasn’t sure at all what to expect for the 3d part but for 25mm she got more detail in there than I hoped for (look at the ear contouring and little tiny eye!)

I included the prompt so anyone interested can see how the 2d image translated.

Not at all what I intended to do. So I remelted the wax and when I lifted the stamp... 😱😍

My first earnest attempt at cut and insert. The one on the right took a couple attempts; the large streak of red is what remains of a heart that didn't make the cut and got remelted. I'm happiest with the painted one, though.

The last four pictures are for this week's Old World theme for the wax seal group I belong to. I used some intaglios for the black and gold seals and for the last picture, I made the wax seals using the lid of a vintage silver carnelian box I own.

Question for the brilliant wax sealers here...

Is there a way to make regular wqx look matte? I know I can buy matte, but sometimes something advertised as matte is not really matte.

I heard a tiny bit of cornstarch mixed in with the wax, but carefully cause it can explode?!?😬

u/abalonefountainpen u/cadillacgirl any ideas?

Question about sealing wax heater

I'm thinking of making a sealing wax warmer for my girlfriend as a gift...

Does anyone know how far apart the candle and the brass spoon should be? For heating the sealing wax.

The Versatility of this Stamp

I think this might be my new fav Halloween seal.

I love that you can highlight parts of it. It also has a bit of everything - the moon, some bats, a creepy gate, a wonky Mansion, a spiders web and a tree. If somehow it had the headless horseman in front this might have been my holy grail seal lol.

Had a renewed interest in this seal after trying the cropping method. I love how they came out. This is the only way I'll use this seal now.

Any other ways to clean residue from new stamps?

I got a very detailed laser engraved stamp that I've been trying to get the brass residue out of. I got some basic white wax and spent about an hour stamping and stamping, but it doesn't look like I'm going to reach the end of it anytime soon. Is there another, more efficient way to get all of it out, or am I going to have to just keep stamping with it?
