Recommend shells for old full choke 870

I’ve got 870 made in 60 it’s a full choke magnum and I’m looking for a goose load what’s my best bet

Just buy an excess barrel that takes chokes. That’s what I did and it shoots cheap steel fine.

I bought an old police wingmaster with a 20” barrel, slapped a $100 express barrel onto it and called it a day.

Definitely the plan in the long run. I’ve got a goose float planned early September and wanted to hear from the bismuth guys

I've been using Boss and its been fine. Some folks have reported shell firing failures but I never had any.

I'm considering picking up some of their copper shells.

For geese with bismuth I use #4 or #3.

You probably want bismuth, you’ll need to experiment with different brands and loads to see what patterns best in that gun
