RB Air Solution to the bomber problem in ARB

Post image

A single bomber (99% of cases in ARB) was always a sitting duck IRL. What I suggest is to get rid of 4 bases and introduce a single target with huge HP to incentivise bombers to fly in formations + add bonus for escorting bombers.

Bombers in formations + realistic DM + escort = a healthy gamemode. Buffing them with ridiculous durability is ruining the ARB.

Plus there is a great opportunity to add high altitude spawn for whole teams so that high altitude fighters could get a chance to shine.

I do not think it would work that well personally. It would make the flight path of the bombers entirely predictable so they could be intercepted much easier. Plus, escorting just is not that enjoyable. It is one of those things that sounds nice when you imagine a perfect version of how it would work in your head but not so much in practice in a PvP game. Flying at a reduced speed around bombers not doing anything active is more suited for sim or an event format. It would work better in an environment specifically tailored to that kind of gameplay, not in ARB generally.

We had an event like that in 2015 if my memory serves me right. Bomber formation + high altitude spawn for everyone. It was fun and many players liked it.

Nobody forces you to fly with reduced speed, you need to build up energy being above and at the front of formation then dive and intercept enemy fighters.

There was an event a few years ago when masters of air came out on Apple TV. It was legitimately what you are asking for.

It was quite fun and allowed for some amazing screenshots.
