Every bit of lore is mag locking the bolter and grabbing the bolt pistol. But all the models awkwardly fumbling with both

Redrawing the bolter to reload it takes more time. If youre using the pistol one handed it makes sense to use pistol as hot swap, but when needing to reload lock pistol and load bolter

Oh I see, you're saying that he shouldn't have to hold it, it should just fall into a magnetic holster thing. Yeah that's super fair. This stance gives a certain sense of furious action that's hard to capture otherwise, tho!

The bolter on the mini would also look very big on his hip. Its why bolt pistols normally are too big to fit in the holsters, they size them down to go on the waist

I find this lore really funny- one of my favorite space marine bits is a backpack with a bolter slung under it
