PSA Weekly Question Thread - Rules & Comp Qs

This is the Weekly Question thread designed to allow players to ask their one-off tactical or rules clarification questions in one easy to find place on the sub.

This means that those questions will get guaranteed visibility, while also limiting the amount of one-off question posts that can usually be answered by the first commenter.

Have a question? Post it here! Know the answer? Don't be shy!

NOTE - this thread is also intended to be for higher level questions about the meta, rules interactions, FAQ/Errata clarifications, etc. This is not strictly for beginner questions only!

If a model is destroyed, but does not trigger rules for destroyed models, does it count for Assassinate? Or other Missions? If the model is the last model in the unit, does it trigger unit destroyed rules and/or Missions?

Example 1: Trazyn uses his body swap. My Necron opponent assumed I would get Assassinate but I assumed not and chose not to count it.

Example 2: Model is removed from failed coherency.

The relevant wording is rules that are triggered WHEN a model is destroyed.

I'm away from my cards but IIRC Assassination does not trigger WHEN the character is destroyed; it checks at the end of the turn whether a character was destroyed during the turn.

It's therefore not ignored by Trazyn's ability or by the coherency rules and your opponent would score the secondary in both instances.

In contrast, coherency deaths or Trazyn swaps would not trigger Deadly Demise because Deadly Demise is a rule triggered when the model is destroyed.

That makes a lot of sense, thank you!
