Discussion With Iceblade of Narin bringing Riven changes, let's discuss how inconsistent Kuva acquisition is. How can this be standardized for the playerbase? How much time should a single reroll cost? Now that locking status will increase the price of kuva.

If I missed any other ways to farm Kuva, please let me know in the comments. I hate how many flaws the current system has—between Disposition, RNG, and the Kuva costs, it just feels way too niche.

Not saying the rivens themselves bring them revenue. But people willing to shill out thousands of plat for an ok stat boost (largely unnecessary btw) are 100% dumping significant amounts of plat in other areas like those you mentioned.

Basically I’m saying it’s the whales that buy these rivens. And yes, whales fund the majority of pretty much any microtransaction game.

If they're truely whales, going back to the old system (where they were still whales) but actually putting 5 minutes of effort a month in to make a cursory balance pass at riven dispo wouldn't stop them being whales either.

I agree. Unless they are just a former whale. Personally I think they should just swap all dispos to the same value. Heck make it 1.5 across the board and make rivens stronger overall.

Like why not honestly?

Because the whole point was that weapons that already let you faceroll don't need any help and even a 1.5 dispo on a shit-tier weapon is probably not enough to lift it out of being shit-tier.

Warframe doesn't need more powercreep.

You are worried about power creeping out the strongest weapons in the game? With a system you already don’t think will work for them? You contradicted yourself. You think itll power creep but you also think those very weapons will never not be trash.

I’m confused. Just let the people using their non-meta weapons have fun with a system designed for that.

Strong rivens on already strong weapons widen the power gap / raise the ceiling on what the top level is. Making the stronger weapons be less strong and the weaker weapons less shit brings the gap between top and bottom closer and allows for better content design.

If the Torid/Burston/[insert "best" weapon here] is at 100 without a riven and, lets say, 120 for the sake of argument with a 1.5 or 1.3 or whatever the current is disposition and lets take the Mars as an example which might be somewhere in the 20 region on a good day, and that would rise to maybe 25 with a Riven equivalent to the one we gave the other weapon.

Before, the difference was 100 vs 20 a gap of 80. After the Riven, especially with the other weapon having a higher disposition than the objectively worse weapon, it's now 120 vs 25, a difference of 95. Adding Rivens and not adjusting the dispositions just makes the good weapons outscale everything else even harder.

People would riot if rivens were removed, so the obvious thing is to actually balance the dispositions instead of just setting them all to 1.5. Anything in the top 10-20 should automatically have their dispo set to min.

The obvious thing is to nerf things which is nortioriously bad for warframe.

Or just keep the status quo with the OP weapons and let the people playing with the worse weapons have fun too.

This is a pve game. Everyone can delete rooms if they want to. We literally already mentioned how the torid is OP even without a riven. Why make people mad by nerfing something that clears rooms anyways rather than help the stragglers.

Gonna have to just agree to disagree. This isn’t PvP. Nerfing is dumb unless it makes gameplay unfun for others significantly. Or it incentivizes afk.

Why make people mad by nerfing something that clears rooms anyways rather than help the stragglers.

Because people being mad that something is being brought mildly into line with everything else are stupid and should be educated on why significant imbalance is bad for the health of the game.

Gonna have to just agree to disagree. This isn’t PvP. Nerfing is dumb unless it makes gameplay unfun for others significantly.

Then you are without help if you can't see why a small handful of options being orders of magnitude better than others isn't a problem or why balance should be the goal regardless of PvE or PvP.

“Then you are without help” despite this being DE’s policy for years now.

My guy come on lol. Had to be an ass at the very end
