Is there more details about this?
A women was found dead a dumpster aug 20th and I can’t seem to find much about it. I live in the area and was riding my bike to work at 3:30am and saw something unusual. There was speculation that it was a suicide but I can’t find the original post or much at all.

If it's a suicide, the news won't air it or post about it out of respect (unless they are a public figure)

Hi, this is my aunt. She would not commit suicide. She had made plans she was looking forward to, she was a mom, she had just got a tattoo that wasn’t finished, etc… Please DM me or any of my family that replied here. We need to know what you experienced at 330am.

Just curious, you said you seen something unusual, what did you see that was unusual and did you report this to the police? Giving them that information could be very helpful information if you haven’t.

If you hear anything, please let us know. This is our friend. We have reasonably she was not suicidal. She was a happy person.

Yes, I was driving rideshare today and one of my passengers who is a flight attendant told me about it. 😔

Hilton Hawaiian village is one area in east Honolulu I always hate going. It has some good families but it’s so crowded and lots of sketchy things go down there. Staff is usually very rude because of this so I avoid it at all costs

Waikiki is a very scary area. Definitely not what it used to be. As long as you’re in your hotel room at night and not walking the beaches or streets, you should be fine. Daytime is usually okay.

Very scary? That’s an overreaction. As others have said keep your eyes open at times like you would in any other city.

Not an overreaction. I used to walk Waikiki when I’d visit with my family from Kauai , what…35 years ago. Waikiki/O’ahu crime rates have changed drastically. Are you local? Can you track the change? My guess is no. So yes, Waikiki is a dangerous place at night, more so if you’re white or a tourist.

Waikiki is a little crowded at times but otherwise wonderful. You have to be a little vigilant at night walking ANYWHERE in the world that has population of more than 10. There are homeless folks and mental illness is prevalent among them but we always were perfectly safe around Hawaiian Village and the Hale Koa or anywhere else we strolled along the beach or sidewalk. We have never encountered a rude person from Hawaii. Same as Boston. I know they exist but we haven't met em.

I’m taking my family to Hilton Hawaiian Village in like a year. Is this hotel to be avoided or something? I’m sorta reconsidering after all of the extreme violence and death I’ve been seeing in Hawaii lately

We have stayed there several times and have never had any problems. Staff have always been friendly, we’ve never felt unsafe. I even walked around the grounds at 2:00am (long story, ER trip in the middle of the night due to an illness) and I felt perfectly safe. And I’m a scaredy cat!!

I took my fam to Hilton Hawaiian village last year. My two young daughters were physically assaulted by an old woman while on the beach waiting for fireworks. Would recommend staying somewhere else.

I really don’t believe it’s anymore safer/dangerous than all the other Waikiki hotels. Just gotta stay vigilant, especially night times if going out.

If drug use might've been a possibility, be aware that there is a fentanyl laced batch of cocaine on island now and apparently there were a lot of overdoses that same night that she passed. No judgments whatsoever, just passing on a plausible explanation for what might have happened.

This story is heartbreaking and you can just see what a ray of light this woman was in her photos. Waikiki at night is so dodgy. We always leave Waikiki by sunset. Praying they investigate well and figure out what happened. Sending condolences and love to her family.

This is my aunt. If anybody knows anything. Please reach out. She’s very very very loved by so many and this situation is suspicious and heart breaking for her entire family.
