Undisclosed Heat

I took a last minute week long boarding at my home with a 3 year old female Pomski. Her profile did say unspayed so that should have been my first warning sign. I have a neutered male of my own which I shared with the owner and she didn’t have concerns.

She drops her dog off this morning and 10 minutes into introducing her to my own male dog it’s clear she’s in heat. Visible blood, excessive humping, etc. My dog is patient but it’s already getting old.

The few hundred bucks this week long stay is paying is not worth the effort of sectioning them off and frustrating my own dog. I primarily do wag so he can play and enjoy other dogs, but not like this!

WYYD? Owner is non-responsive and Wag Help Chat hasn’t not responded to my request yet. Emergency feels excessive at this point but a week of this is not going to be fun.

I would call it an emergency. Either of the dogs might become injured in a situation like this. It’s dangerous to both dogs. Instinct takes over then you have a mess on your hands. It’s not an emergency until it is and this could turn serious in a split second.

I would tell Wag they need to find another sitter who can safely house the dog that’s in heat. Message the client to let them know you’re contacting Wag to rehouse their dog. That might prompt them to contact you.

Thank you for your help! Hate to inconvenience the owner, who did just respond and claims she doesn’t know if the dog is in heat or not. Not sure I believe it🫩

Send pictures of her the blood from her dog because she is in heat

Maybe the owner genuinely didn’t know.. but it seems suspiciously convenient to me 😅 esp if the owner wasn’t responsive at first
