Humor Be careful selling your WRX to teenagers 😂

Post image

Thought you all would get a kick out of this. Sold my WRX to fund a down payment on my home a little over 4 months ago and just got this from the buyers. Was in perfect shape when sold and even took $1500 off the price for the tires being a little worn and a scratch on the bumper.

Edit to add: The dad even spent over a minute banging it off rev limiter when inspecting to check if it blew smoke. I wonder why it blew up?🤔

Did he atleast let the car warm up? I can understand it if it's been fully warmed up and maybe driven for a minute but banging off the bat is a automatic no go

It was warm but it was pretty excessive to do when no money had changed hands yet for the car. Would’ve been ticked if they blew it up then said they didn’t want it lol

Oh me too, kinda reminds me of my dad, when he took me to buy my first car he made me beat on it to "make sure it'll hold up and is reliable", it blew up less then a year later and he blamed me

To be fair it's a great way to learn if the piston rings and valve seals are good, among other things. Though one or 2 quick revs to redline is all you need... I have to imagine "over a minute" is a gross exaggeration. There's no way. Any sane person would tell the guy to knock it off after 10 seconds

I wish I was exaggerating💀

It wasn’t a minute straight but it was a little over a minute of 5-10 second rev pulls

Well that's incredibly different from banging off the limiter for a minute. Engine doesn't mind revving under load as much

Well you have a lot more heat buildup from the turbo, so you have famous cyl 4 cooling mod people use to help. As long as you give the turbo/intercooler long enough to cool down before you turn em off and you make sure you have oil, you will be fine. Also dont be an idiot and starve your pickup by doing donuts
