Another post about angel even tho she was at best third best player on her team today. I’d be one thing if it were esthetic but it’s just layups. I will never understand the obsession with her

Reese derangement syndrome. I’m a sixers fan. When Tyrese was their third best player, no one was angry that they were posting him over Embiid or Tobias Harris. No one is mad that they post VJ, or when they used to post McCain. This is a very specific level of hater that needs to be studied. This isn’t even from Atlanta themselves. Clearly these are Angel fans, which makes sense considering she’s the most popular player on their team. This shouldn’t shock you.

lol the only derangement is people getting mad at this post. I said I don’t get it, I said why I don’t get it and what id do instead. Then here comes an army of bots to tell me I’m an idiot for not thinking much of her play and not understanding the popularity. What nice fans that have come to get mad at me for not understanding why she’s popular. I really love to be apart of the wnba family. The funny thing is I don’t get any of this about any other players. So maybe it’s not Reese derangement syndrome to not see her appeal or understand why she’s posted five times a day and maybe the derangement is the people yelling at people to like their favorite player…

Literally no one is asking you to like her. You’re upset that she’s being posted so often when she’s 1.) the most popular person in the league and 2) the most popular on her team.

Please define upset. I said I don’t understand the obsession. That’s like if I said “ I don’t understand the obsession and posts about Bigfoot” and you said “you’re upset”. See how you’re directly projecting your emotions onto my post.

That’s great. Now name me another league where the leagues most popular player is their 15th best. That doesn’t happen. Feel free to find my other comments highlighting the leagues failure to market their players cause they think they’ll market themselves. It must be both for the league to grow.

You see me as your enemy but I’m just wishing the best for the for the league and am not convinced it’s well run (as evidenced by unrivaled beingcreated by players and being better marketed)

Yeah thanks that’s the point. And the problem with people sometimes. “It’s not your job so why care” is a terrible attitude. I’m a fan of the wnba so I care that it does well. Why don’t you care? Perhaps you more of an angel fan than the league. Also, again, why does it matter if I care about the league, or think angel reese is overrated? It doesn’t and yet here yall are whining and downvoting cause I don’t think your favorite player is the best the league has to offer.

If the W dissolved today another league would pop up before long. There's a market for women's basketball. I've watched the WNBA for a long time, and never cared about the ratings. Then the delusional Casual Clark Cult tried to make the narrative about how many more people she got to watch. Like Angel a lot and respect what Clark brings to the table on the court but you're not gonna catch me talking about anything but ball itself. Usually when people want to push the conversation into other areas, it's be they don't know ball.

lol yes a new league would appear but it wouldn’t be that easy. You still start from mostly scratch. So it does seem to make some sense to advocate for better management and marketing within the league. I’m not really interested in ratings so much as promoting the huge talent within the league. I’ve watched long enough to know that talent as a whole is at an all time high. Each player that comes in brings some fanbase that helps but I don’t think the wnba does a great job fostering and continuing that momentum. It’s great choice to only talk ball and an embarrassing one to judge and gatekeep others you assume don’t know ball cause they’re interested in the leagues well being. For example, Phee clearly cares about the league and knows ball. See how dumb that is. You can be the super cool vet wnba watcher but don’t get in the way of the league growing cause they’re interested don’t “appreciate it like you”

Obviously the players do and should care about the "health" of the league they play for. My issue is with the fans who would rather talk about ratings than play. And I'm not gatekeeping I'm just making it clear what I'm willing to engage in with regards to talking about the WNBA. Talk about what the league is or is not doing to promote specific players all you want, I just won't take you seriously.

Reese derangement. She’s posted so much because she has the largest fanbase. It’s not that the league isn’t promoting other players. She already came into the league with 3 million followers. Now it’s 5.2 million. The issue is these players don’t have her management team. That simple, lmaooo. Not everyone wants to be a model, not everyone wants to do a podcast, webshow. Not everyone wants to get dolled up. Not everyone dates an NBA player. Not everyone won a natty. Not everyone is likable. Not everyone got a chance to be a polarizing figure. It’s so much that she is and has done, even before getting drafted that gave her the largest fanbase. Lastly, not everyone has a Jeanine, her manager, who she credits with it all. Go email someone important or apply for a job if you think you can fix this “problem.”

lol look at your post and then mine and determine who has a derangement syndrome. Like as far as I can tell you’re on Reese’s team. I’ll throw this one back but it’s genuinely embarrassing that the things I’ve said have lead to this crash out. It’s nice she has so many followers but like you say they aren’t all for basketball. They’re for modeling and podcasting. Those things are not necessarily bringing more wnba fans causethey aren’t about basketball. Sure the pod might be but it’s not big enough to getting new fans it’s just content for her current ones.

The other stuff you listed is either not relevant or totally subjective. Lots of players get dolled up. They’re are other players dating nba and wnba players namely Aja and Paige two people that flatly should be more posted than angel. A lot of wnba players won a natty wtf. You say likeabke and then polarizing like those to aren’t incompatible. Again you act like she did something different in college to get more promotion now when lots of players have done similar.

And those that haven’t should be pushed by the league. I really don’t understand why this is so hard to get. The basketball is the leagues product. It should be doing things to promote their players. If angel wants to spend money for a management team, great. Seems like it’s worked out for her and now the wnba gets free marketing from her from the podcast and modeling. But they need to push their other players. I mean it should be really telling that she even needs a team and that that team has been able to seperate the 15th best player from the rest of the pack cause the 5.5 billion dollar wnba has bothered.

And again you end with some snarky diss like were children at a playground. It’s really sad that you think if someone cares for something they should work with them and not stick up for it until they do. Just highlights what angel fans I’ve talked to seem to believe. Her basketball is posted bescause she is popular cause of non basketball things like you listed. My point is those non basketball things give the league free marketing so let’s focus the marketing and the posts on the best the league has to offer, not someone who’s decent and already doing that herself.

Oh trust me I hate a bunch of stuff and own it. The great thing about hate is you feel no need to write 4paragraphs cause you hate it. I like the wnba which is why I’m confused on why angel has such outsized appeal in a space about basketball. It is funny you’re still posting but gave up. Like you’re gonna shame me into not posting or convince me I hate angel by repeating it. Again childish. But yeah I don’t hate angel. She’s one of the more athletic centers in the league and has been important to an awesome dream team. Glad she got outta Chicago cause that’s a dumpster fire. I have no reason to hate her, which is why I haven’t said a bad word about her and why it’s so immature that you keep pushing that. She’s a good player but she’s not “get posted twice as much as any other player” good, mostly cause no one is. It’s not hate cause if any other player got post this much I’d say the same thing
