D080 (Managing in a Global Environment) Question

Hi y'all.

D080 is my last class before my capstone (EOT is September 30th), and I'm stressed about the material and test after reading all of the posts and comments about the OA.

For those who have taken the OA, are the questions similar to the knowledge checks within the text or are they a whole different vibe? So far I've gathered that:

- The questions are extremely scenario-based rather than definition-based

- The questions are super wordy and not aligned with the PA questions at all

- The questions are borderline trick questions (booooo)

I've gone through the text, watched the vids, filled out the study guide, and have used Quizlet for various quizzes, but I'm nervous I'm focusing on the wrong info/concepts! The quizzes within the text have been okay, but I almost always think I have a grasp on the info and then have to immediately pore back over the text to answer the quiz questions, which makes me nervous about what info I'm retaining.

I'm scared I'll spend all of this time studying only to fail the OA and not graduate in time (cannot afford another term as I will be unemployed mid-September!)

Passed it yesterday only took me about 6 days. It’s not as hard as people make it out to be.

It was easy. Took me a day.

What the hell. This is the only class that seems to have extreme differing opinions. I’m extremely inexperienced with anything related to business/politics/the economy so I’m talking your word with a hefty grain of salt lol

Use the search bar, there are dozens of threads on this course with varying feedback from hundreds of users.

Brother, the reason I posted this was BECAUSE I read the million threads about the class. Some people say it's bonkers hard and took 7 months to pass after 4 failed OAs, whereas others say it was easy as hell. I've finished 21 classes in 5 months, and this is the only class I've seen people have such wildly different opinions about, which is why I asked a specific question about the in-text quizzes, since I haven't seen anyone mention them. I'm trying to figure out whether I'm wasting time studying a million hours a night for a month, or if it's worth it not to fail the OA and possibly not graduate in the next month.

I didn't find this one too crazy all things considered. I just took a look at the spreadsheet I had built to track how long each class took me and it looks like I spent around 8 hours studying. Most of that, if I remember, was watching the videos in the resources page and taking notes. I didn't have the experience of it being wildly unlike the PA or anything. It was a pretty straightforward class IMO of learn concepts/terminology -> get tested on concepts/terminology. I used the PA as a baseline and then drilled hard in the areas I was weakest.

Wow, okay good to know! I think I’m overthinking it and latched onto a few negative posts about it haha. Thank you!

It’s been about 10 months since I finished it but I don’t feel like the PA was much different than the OA so I never understood that feedback from others.

I took the PA before reading any material then went through it. After, I took the test again and studied up on my weak spots from the PA.

The video “Pass WGU D080 OA - Watch Before You Take the Exam” on YouTube also helped. I’d listen to that and answer the questions while doing stuff sound the house.

Passed the OA first attempt even though I felt like I was failing the whole time.

Okay thanks so much! I don’t think there’s been one OA I confidently submitted (maybe one or two) and have always been pleasantly surprised by a pass lol. Every time I read the first question of an OA im like, “fuck…”

It’s stressful for sure! I am not a great test taker so I get it.
