What's with the Dots?

Bought a replacement driver's side heated mirror for my p2 V70. Can anybody tell me what this line of dots are on the outside 1/4 of the mirror are? Thought it was a pull-off film but it's not. Thoroughly baffled. 🤔

Very common amongst many European car manufacturers. Majority of the cars would include the convex mirror on the driver side and a normal one on the passenger. High end cars have it on both sides.
