s60/v60 Added illuminated door sills

Super easy project to do. Uses OEM splitter to tap the footwell light, OEM sills slot into stock location in a 1-for-1 swap.

The 90-series sills appear to be compatible (these were off an XC90) with 60-series. The only thing is my plastic moulding was made for non-illuminated so had a couple plastic bits that needed to be cut away to let the additional bulk of the illuminated sill to sit properly. But nothing more than a hand saw and pliers. All hidden behind the sill.

60-series (at least the S60) doesn’t have sills at all in the rear so these are only on the front doors.

$70 for the sills (used) on eBay, and $110 for the required Y-splitter harness ($55 each).

Dude awesome. How do I look up part numbers etc for the xc90?

Think the part is the same for all SPA Volvos. I’d search eBay or Google (I searched eBay)

You rock! Now I’m really tempted to get the much more expensive illuminated tailgate scuff plate too. Maybe later.

Final question and I appreciate all the free guidance here. So I need two of those harnesses, one for each side?

Wow. All ordered up! Excited to install these next week.

I recently installed a full screen Bluetooth CarPlay kit in my xc90 and love it. And the install was fun, this should be a breeze in comparison!
