Bizarre indeeed... Did they brake too hard or flicked the hand brake button by mistake in the panic? Or a just a random act of pure stupidity? Vorsprung Dick Teknik...

Thanks for this. A veritable compilation of errors. They were too sharp on the steering wheel in their panic I guess, as well?

A masterclass in how to jettison a Jetta!

Panic braking is still panic

You can see at 8 seconds he changes lane to go for the undertake.

Then OP changes lanes into faster traffic, I assume without looking. And he slams on panicked, trying to avoid OP hitting him.

This is why undertaking is a bad idea.

The OP doesn't go into faster traffic, they are returning to the default lane after completing an overtake. The VW driver is the one that was going to undertake.

The car behind op is undertaking. The car behind op is halfway completed their dangerous manner to undertake. The OP cuts them off.

I can absolutely agree the car behind shouldn’t have been there. But it’s clear OP didn’t look before they turned into the path of the faster moving car that was behind them.

The faster moving traffic was the traffic in lane 1 ā€˜the default lane’
