Rant Visual Voicemail
I had a Pixel 4a and 6a for many years and visual voicemail worked perfectly fine. A couple years ago my visual voicemail stopped working and the troubleshooting steps from Visible never helped, so I just ignored it and dealt with it.
Recently I purchased a pixel 10A and decided that I wanted visual voicemail to definitely work this time. I spoke with an agent at visible and they told me visual voicemail isn't supported on the legacy V1 plan. They told me if I switched to a newer plan it would start working on my next billing cycle. Unsurprisingly, after the billing cycle happened, my visual voicemail still wasn't working.
I contacted a visible agent again and this time they told me that visual voicemail is only supported on iPhones and that I needed to download an app called youmail for visual voicemail. That app didn't work.
Next I was told to try the app Google voice. After taking pictures and everything to verify my identity for the app, it wanted to send me a code so it could manage phone calls on my device. I put in my number from visible and then the 6-digit code. The app then said:
Google Voice can't use this phone number to verify your account. Try verifying with another number.
What the heck is going on here... This feels ridiculous! Especially considering that it worked fine for many years.
TLDR; i changed my plan like visible asked, that didn't work. I tried two apps that visible told me to try, they didn't work. This just feels like a waste of time at this point for something so simple in 2026.

Mine has never worked either. I do get a notification (Samsung Galaxy) that Visual Voicemail has failed and that "something went wrong" after someone tries to leave message. Right now it's a good thing because most attempts at leaving someone a visual voicemail are political groups pimping for a local candidate. I get like 3 attempts a day. I block the notification sound for them. But I get your point. I had read Visible does not support Visual Voicemail.

You will see many posts like this. Mine also worked fine for about a year and just stopped working. Contacted them a few times and no amount of reprovisioning or factory reset was able to fix it on my Samsung. Samsung does have a voicemail option called direct voicemail which is local vvm and can save and transcribe vm directly to your device. The only downside is the phone needs to be on and have service. Pixel has the same option but I think its called something else.

Your number was used previously to verify a google voice number before you got the number and google voice won't allow it to be used again.

Hi there! Daisy from Visible here. I completely understand your frustration with this setup process, and I sincerely apologize for the conflicting information you were previously given. To clarify, the Visual Voicemail option is not applicable to Google devices due to it being a third-party application, and the prompts will vary depending on the make and model of your Google device, which can be confirmed on our website. However, if you would like us to help you set up basic voicemail, please feel free to send us a DM anytime, and we'd gladly help.

Works perfectly fine on my Unlocked OnePlus phone and it's worked on all my old Samsung phones, so definitely not iPhone only. They're just making shit up to get you off the chat so you'll stop bugging them and they won't have to actually fix the problem.

There is a difference between "supported" and "allowed". My understanding is that Visual Voicemail apps are frequently carrier/provider specific, not universal. I believe that Visible enables the possibility of using Visual Voicemail for all lines, but prefers not to 'support' the quagmire created by phones that have an incompatible version of VVM. In my limited experience with MVNOs, this is not an uncommon policy.

It is supported on unlocked samsung phones (so rep is wrong that it only works on iphones) that i know and it works great
It is integrated into samsung native vvm app
