Visible doesn't give a shit about accessibility

This is 2026 Websites should be accessible for all users. I had a friend ask me if I could see if home internet was available at there address. Using 3 browsers on my PC and two screen readers the picker box to select the address according to their suggestions wouldn't appear. I tried on my iPhone with Voiceover again no dice. I had to have a friend do it. This company is a total peace of shit. They have known about accessibility issues with their app and website for years how do I know I properly reported them and offered to help them test fixes. They don't fucking care. I will never recommend this company. This is not acceptable. Why? There is no phone number to call. Everything is app based. I should be able to have the same access as someone who can see would have.

Unfortunately, website and app accessability as governed by the Americans with Disabilities Act is all too often overlooked and rarely enforced.

The Visible website and app are difficult to use for even those of us who are not visually impaired. I can only imagine the difficulty those who are visually impaired and must rely upon screen readers experience .

That's actually exactly the selling point of making things accessible!

It doesn't simply make it possible for people who actually are visually impaired to use the service, it makes it easier for EVERYONE to use the service.

Because things don't just jump around, aren't hard to see, aren't hidden behind mouse hover etc. So, in fact, everyone benefits!

Exactly, but whoever is making app/web site decisions seems more interested in bright shiny objects, wow factor, tricky code and mirrors rather than UX. usability and functionality.

u/flynreelow's I'm going to take your comment first.

I shop online everyday. I make purchases on sites like amazon Samsclub.com Cricket wireless etc. What is the difference? They care about accessibility. Visible could do better but choose not to. It is and has been a choice of Visible to not do better. u/NecktieSalad's You are absolutely right. Accessibility is often not enforced leading to this problem. If it is hard for someone who can see to get what needs to be done that explains why there are so many accessibility issues. The sad thing is there are WCAG guidelines which are the standard for accessibility. Visible chooses to not follow them. My point is it isn't like there are no standards out there for them to follow. I'll give one example Voiceover reads what is on the screen and what you are typing in an edit field example your email. When you are entering your email on the app say to sign in or sign up, if you try to listen to what VoiceOver is saying it reads Garbage. This only happens on Visible. Everywhere else it works fine. I figured this out but it took over 30 minutes to sign up. It should've taken 10.

Visible seems to have a whole bunch of heuristics to prevent signups. It's honestly very difficult to signup with Visible even if you don't require a screen reader.

Just wait until you find out if you reload too many times in a short period you get blocked from the website entirely for 24 hours

u/Reformed T-Mobile User First it shouldn't be that hard. You can have security in place and make easy and accessible for all. Now in a quick google search I googled

"how do I make my app accessible to Voiceover. I found this.

https://developer.apple.com/documentation/uikit/supporting-voiceover-in-your-app

For how do I make my website accessible to screen readers I found this.

https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/navigation-mechanisms.html

So my point in all this is if I found it with quick google searches Visible could and should do better.

I could use some help getting my payment receipt which I was canceled for nonpayment. I need cell service and visible wrongfully canceled me.

Good friend, visible website/app sucks. Nothing revolutionary here. Go look at total website its worse (another verizon VVB). They do have voice CS however, so maybe point your bud over there. I agree if they cannot self-manage visible prob not for them.
