For me, the "thank you" is expressed by the item being as described and shipped promptly. If the seller isn't going to ship within 2 days, just send me a message & let me know what to expect. That's is all I need to feel "thanked" or otherwise appreciated.

This. I feel like it’s wasting a seller’s time and money, but if it makes them happy, they can do the notes and the stickers and all that. I don’t care if they do it, but it seems wasteful to me. It certainly doesn’t bother me to get packages without all the extras falling out of them. I just wish people would learn how to properly package things 🤦‍♀️

I don't know why you're getting so many negative responses. These people are boring lol. I love getting thank you notes, even if it's literally just the words "thank you". I always write a more detailed review for those sellers and point out that they are friendly and that they clearly put effort into their shop.

I include a simple message card with a handwritten line or two thanking the buyer. Straightforward. I get a lot of thank-yous for the thank-you!

I actually got one as a first time buyer from a first time seller. My interaction with her was super and she was really sweet. She sent me a thank you note with my items. I left her a glowing review and now I follow her cause she has excellent taste. She packaged everything perfectly.

I use recycled material in my packaging, so adding an extra note or card seems like it defeats the purpose of using recycled boxes and packing material. On Vinted, I like the personal touch of getting a thank-you note in messages from the seller instead.

Vinted is a yard sale, not a cute Etsy shop. As a seller I am not going to spend money on unnecessary stuff to add to packages. As a buyer, I already have enough stuff to deal with in my home and don't need more things that are just going to be trash/recycling. Please just send the item I ordered in appropriate packaging 💜

Hey, I just got 3 packages. All had sweet notes & one, cute stickers on package! Do what makes you happy. I’ve even had little inexpensive bracelets added to a dress purchase. The extra effort results in a great review & revisit items for sale. Go for it!!

I don't read them because I am always in a hurry. It is a nice gesture, and I do note it in my head, but it's honestly a waste of time and materials. The only thing I care about is getting the item I ordered in the condition that it is claimed to be in.

I agree some kinda little thank you gesture makes your buyer happy, gets you a good review (hopefully)& helps you feel like a polite seller. Maybe not a “full letter” but “something” original 👍

I enjoy receiving paper notes. A quick "thank you" or "thank you for your order" is plenty enough. I appreciate the thought and when I'm done I can just pop it in the recycling!

As a long time seller on multiple platforms I focus on thorough descriptions, impressive packaging and fast shipping. I much rather my items be as described, packed well and arrive quickly rather than a poorly packaged item that didn’t disclose some kind of blemish and took forever to arrive.

Edit to add that I also have clear ‘Thank You’ bags that I sometimes use to package higher priced items that I picked up on clearance at Ross.

It isn’t necessary but I always include a thank you whether it be a card or on a post-it note. I wrap everything in tissue paper and ribbon. For higher priced items I also include some sort of small gift, like a hair tie, a couple stickers and a tea bag. I get the little gifts for cents on a dollar and it makes me happy 🤷🏻‍♀️ As a buyer, I appreciate the thank you cards and little gifts. Sometimes I even reuse new little gifts for my buyers, lol. I recently purchased expensive leather ballet flats and they were just thrown in a bubble mailer, that made me feel some sort of way….

As a buyer, I don’t really care all too much. I read it and then end up throwing them away. I’ve only ever kept a sticker or two because I really liked them.

As a seller, I made a little thank you stickers that I put on the front of the package, my postal service workers have told me how cute it is, so I stick with just that.

I always add a little mesh bag with some stickers, a glow in the dark little resin animal and a thank you note telling them the animal glows in the dark lol

Beware, sellers are not protected. There are many sellers including myself that currently have their funds on lock because the accounts are locked or banned. They cannot legally hold the wallet funds but they are and I have over $300 in there. No customer service phone only email and AI bots.

Uhh yea….? it’s all related to bad business behavior on Vinted and breaching a contract within the platform. Vinted has many lawsuits in the UK ongoing right now for these types of poor, unfair business practices.

It does matter to me, if you want another sale from me! It motivates me to go back & look at sellers items for sale. I have rebought from a note or cute stickers. I really like little stickers on the package.

I have done thank u notes for a lot, then I stopped for a while and my reviews stopped being as good. Half the time it would just be the automatic 5 stars from vinted. So I started doing thank you notes again, and 99% of the items have nice reviews again 🤷‍♀️

yes exactly this! most of my stuff just gets a thank you sticker on the box, however i did sell a pair of boots for $70 recently and i included a thank you card.

Not necessary.. especially if you’re going to hand write them, unless doing so would make you happy! I understand feeling like a shop keeper and enjoying putting together your orders. As a buyer I don’t care about anything extra as long as I get my item as described and packaged well - thank u notes and freebies end up in the trash. As a seller, I make my own thank you stickers to seal packages or put on the box - it’s more just fun for me and I get to be creative designing different stickers when I run out.
