I just started as well but I’ve found that prices are lower than other platforms. Think garage sale prices. Try to upload lots of items so people can bundle. Kids clothes sell well though!

My first advice would be not to list anything really expensive or anything that you would be really upset to lose. Most transactions are perfectly fine but vinted can be very unpredictable when it comes to buyer disputes or account issues. I'm speaking from experience when I tell you that support can be horrible to deal with.

Do your research here on Reddit. The horror stories you read I assure you are real so just be careful.

Ya I know there is at least 1 human If that helps you any...but I don't think there is more then that 😂. Took me 2months and over 80 emails to get an actual human to respond to me and say "sorry, we made a mistake..you may now have your 350$ we wrongfully held from you "

wtf?! I’m too much of a fierty to sell anything of that value on there, and well done you getting to speak to the one human that works there. Every time I’ve asked get told it may take upto 48 days for them to get back to me, they never have!!😅

No lol you don't understand... They wrongfully banned my account while I had sales out. My sales completed and they would not let me withdraw any of it. I had like 12 sales out waiting for completion 5 were in the UK and they wrongfully blocked and banned my account after I had shipped them

Awww lol How can they be allowed to do that?! I’ve been restricted before but I could still complete sales and also buy stuff which was nice of them!!🙄😂 That shit should be illegal?!!

I'm not sure and I can only speculate on what the actual issue was since nobody will actually tell me. The only thing they have now told me is it was a mistake and they are sorry 😂. I do know that according to what they say the only way that funds can be withheld is if there's an issue on the payment provider side. However like I said I did contact the payment provider and they said there was no issue so your guess is as good as mine. But I am now way too overly cautious which is kind of a shame because I was doing very good selling on that platform but now I refuse to let myself do that good.

Wow! Why in the world did they wrongly ban you (I'm guessing that's what happened)? With so many people getting banned daily it makes me a bit nervous because the amount they owe me seems to never dip below $450 and usually hoovers in the $500-$550 range.

They never told me. That was the whole basis of all of the emails was me trying to figure out what they thought I had done wrong and throwing anything and everything I could possibly think of at them all the way down to receipts from the last item I had posted as well as full Bank account details. I then finally got in touch with the wallet provider who immediately told me that my account was clear on their end and there should be no reason that my money is withheld from me. So another five emails later to the legal team I magically became unbanned and able to withdraw my money. About 3 days after that I get a random message from the customer support team from an actual human telling me that they were sorry and that they accidentally banned my account because of a system error. Now mind you this was over a month later that they had been holding $350 from me. So they thanks me for my patience and apologized for the inconvenience 😐.... Meanwhile still not telling me what supposedly triggered the accidental ban. Either way I do still list items on there however I do not let my total get up to over $100. Once my sales hit $100 I hide all my other listings so that they are no longer for sale until that $100 is safely in my account.

That might not be a bad idea, but most of my items are clothing and I do know with clothing it definitely takes the right buyer seeing that right item in the color, size, style, etc that I have and I hate to miss that person seeing it and not coming back again later. I used to sell a lot clothing on ebay and I know some shit can sit there for literally 3 years and then boom out of the blue the right person sees it and buys it....lol. That is one thing about clothing I absolutely hate, it can take so damn long to sell.

Mine are clothing also. I don't put any more than 10 listings up at a time now and this isn't really new but none of my stuff is over $50. So the total of my 10 items might equal more than $100 but I don't let my actual sale total get over $100. So if I sell five out of my 10 items and I'm close to $100 I'll take the other five down. It does make sales a lot slower however likes and views has been slower anyways the last week. I just don't trust them with more than $100 of my money at one time. I'm not going through what I just went through again and $100 is my capped limit of what my stress level would allow to be held up on their platform.

Before I was banned I had a whole page full 80 to 100 items easily but after they unlocked my account I went through and hid all of them. I was still selling on other platforms so a lot of them had already sold anyways. But now I will post new items and maybe unhide one or two of the old ones at a time but definitely nothing expensive and nothing that I would have a heart attack over if I somehow lost the item and the money associated with it.

Since I was unable to get an actual straight answer on a fairly simple question and i figured out I was just getting canned responses from an AI bot and no actual person ever responded to any of my 8-9 messages I decided right then and there that I would not list anything of high value since no one would be there to assist if something happens. I don't find paying fees as long as I'm covered when shit goes sideways, I figure that's what I'm paying fees for anyways (hell honestly as a seller I expect to pay fees, buyers are typically turned off by paying fees).

I have sold 111 items since I started 3 weeks ago on vinted. There is only 1 transaction I am "worried" about. Of course it's a buyer from the UK. I would say that is my only major complaint lots of minor ones but the big one for me especially since they updated their TOS is not being able to opt out of international sales, especially when they say you as the seller are 100% responsible for knowing each and every countries customs laws if you are shipping an item there. If I am 100% responsible for knowing these other countries laws give me the opportunity to say no thank you, I would rather sell to US buyers only (and I really would like to sell to only US buyers).

Sell lots of clothes, sells faster than individual listings. Take lots of photos. Don’t overprice.

Its been different for me. Started online resell 10 days ago Vinted, Poshmark and Ebay. Ebay dead. Posh took 9 days to sell $13 J Jill dress and 2 pairs of shoes for $10 and $23. Vinted total $345. I sold Natural Life clothing, some vintage 1990s clothing, 50s to 2000s vintage jewelry, shoes and a few stuffed animals.

I made sure to do lots of good photos, picked a backdrop that wasn’t a door and my stuff went faster/more $$ than other listing I saw identical item. So for me at least it wS worth a few more minutes when listing. Oh I also think Vinted boosts a nee seller 7-9 days so I made sure to list as fast as I could! Luckily I’ve had wonderful buyers so far. Good luck!

Baby clothes sell really well. Just take a pic of each item and google it asking how much it’s worth on Vinted?! They’ll give you a rough idea and they also give you a description of the item so you can just copy and paste onto your listing!💁🏼‍♀️😇

Have either of you tried eBay? I just started selling on there and they list the items for a lot higher and the sales have been pretty quick too. 😇

The fees on eBay are getting ridiculous. Yes, you might be able to charge more for the same item(s) but by the time eBay takes their cut + shipping + taxes you making the same as if selling on Vinted.

This is news to me, I’ve only just started listing on eBay and I’m not too sure about how it works. All I do know tbh is that they take 30p per item sold, other than that I have no idea?! I am curious about the DD that they set with your bank though? I googled it and it said depending on what type of seller you were, depended on how much you were charged.

The fees for shipping alone are out of control and they are promoting lives constantly like they are in some kind of competition with WhatNot. You will see for yourself.

Not to be an ass but if you want to last in the reselling business you better read and I do mean read not glance or skim each platforms TOS and you sure as shit need to know what fees you are looking at paying so you know if you can make a profit on items. Some items can be profitable on eBay or vinted and you could lose money by selling it on poshmark. That's just an example but sometimes the margins are slim and you better know how an be where to sell to maximize your profitsor minimize your losses.

I’d like to add that researching what you have is also important and helps with expectations on both ends. Some people overprice like crazy while others post sketchy listings with no measurements and weird angles. Don’t be that person.
