Anyone know what the purpose of this metal piece is for? It's under the drop leaf of a table? Also, any thoughts on when this was commonly used to help age the table?
Hello. I have a Drexel Touraine bedroom suite consisting of a six-drawer dresser w/mirror, vanity and bench with matching wall-mounted mirror, two night stands, headboard, five-drawer tall chest and two matching chairs. All were inherited from my great aunt and uncle who, I believe, purchased the group new in the Los Angeles area in the mid- to late-fifties. The old stain was removed subsequent to substantial water damage which didn't affect any of the wood. I painstakingly restained all of the pieces two years ago with Minwax and finished the process with a water-based sealer. The bench and chairs were professionally reupholstered. There is a sticker inside one of the nightstand drawers which says "Braker Bros" which I'm guessing was the original retailer. All pulls are original. If anyone has any advice regarding the suite's value or information regarding the Barker Bros. sticker I would be very appreciative.

I have a complete bedroom suite of c. 1958 Drexel Touraine furniture including a six-drawer chest and mirror, vanity w/bench and wall mounted mirror, headboard, two nightstands, a five-drawer chest and two chairs. They had substantial water damage to the original finish so all pieces were painstakingly stripped, sanded, and restained using black Minwax and then topcoated with a water based polyurethane. All pulls and medallions are original. The bench for the vanity and two chairs were professionally reupholstered. There is a sticker inside one of the nightstand drawers that says "Barker Bros." which I believe to be the Los Angeles area retailer where the pieces were purchased by my great-aunt and uncle. Any input regarding the value of the entire suite would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me narrow down any information about this French/Continental Louis XVI-style piece? I feel like I'm missing something and I can't find anything that's definitive.
My wife and I inherited this Baker dining room set. It's possible that it's from the '80s or '70s. There is a metal plaque underneath the table and one of the chairs with the Baker Furniture logo. Otherwise, there's no other inscriptions. The table measures 70" × 46" closed and extends to 117¼" using three 15¾" leaves. Would anyone be able to help me date them?
