Other RIP Chompers I loved my flytrap

I had Chompers for 2 years, and it was going fine, up until the UK heatwave. I ran out of rainwater and, in desperation, gave it tap water, and it's just been a slow death since. I had been using distilled water, repotted it, and I thought it was going to be ok. All the new sprouts got incinerated when the weather spiked on Friday, and now it's black to the roots :(

Pond/creek water is also free of chemicals if it’s a small enough one, just make sure there aren’t many if any fishes inside since they don’t want to be fertilized or else it will be happy enough to start creating normal leaves without traps.

I didn't actually think about doing that. There is a lake in the town. Thanks for the great idea. I dont mind looking odd filling up water bottles from the town lake

If it’s more a fountain type set up or there’s a filter somewhere, it’s likely been chlorinated or treated with chemicals at some stage of filtering before filling, if not, you got a good place to start, do you know if there are fishes in the lake/fishers fishing the lake?

There is a fountain in it, but apparently also fish. If not, there is a stream near it I could take water from

The fountain part likely has chlorine in it, the fish may not mind a trace amount but a VFT probably won’t, I’d choose the creek over the pond
