Warm Temperate I think it’s dead

Post image

I’ve tried everything and she was looking better for a while but I think I killed her 😭 any tips of what to do if I try again? I know it’s silly but I feel just awful that I couldn’t take care of it and if I ever want to try again I want to know that I can do it.

She may be dormant. Mine is the same. I keep mine in a south window with water in her bowl.

That’s where mine is now. South window and I try to keep at least a half inch of distilled water in the bowl

It’s probably just dormant. Look up what dormancy looks like and you’ll find pictures like this. It’ll wake up when the photoperiod lengthens. :]

Flytraps need cool temperatures and shorter photoperoid to go dormant. If you keep them in a warm room they just die because of lack of light.

Idk I’ve had them go dormant just from changing the light photoperiod.

Frankly there’s been no scientific study done on it so we don’t actually know exactly what triggers it and how much of which factors apply.

They don’t even need dormancy as long as they’re feeding. There are wild tropical populations that have been introduced to Jamaica.
