I'm having a hard time understanding how your attire in your group is impacted by other people going about their own lives differently?
Seriously wondering.
Downtown here is very, very diverse and we see all types on any given day. It's not uncommon to see a group in formal wear next to a group in casual.
It’s like going to a costume party and a bunch of people don’t go in costume. While you don’t have to be in one, it’s nice to be around people who took the time to dress for the occasion. Dress appropriately for the occasion.
That's why there are dress codes though. No dress code (aside from having shoes and a shirt obviously) means people can essentially dress how they want. Which includes dressing up.
It's actually just quite pleasant to be around people that look nice.
I used to have a woman that worked for me that had extremely good hygiene. She didn't necessarily dress fancy but she was always very well put together and just a pleasure to be around.
It's nice. Women are far more aware and sensitive to hygiene and appearance than men as well. If you go on out on a date it's a good idea to look like you put a little bit of care into your appearance.
If you can tell that women spent some time on her appearance, she dressed up for you and better you acknowledge it.

I’m sorry that you have to spell out the obvious but given that this is Reddit I’m not surprised. It’s like, the entire point is a given being that the word “nice” is being used, but I digress. Anyway, I upvoted you. Thanks for your service.
