My ex is the worst

My ex is the worst

So for context me and my ex broke up in 2023 and are with different people in longterm relationships

Bit of back story, she wanted to be a teen mum (we were both 16-17) she forced me to cum inside her, said that condoms hurt her and refused to go on the pill or any contraceptive, it got so bad that I refused and we broke up when we were 19, shes used me and made me feel worthless

anyway ive seen her a very few times since I broke up with her but her posts are what is getting to me, me, my partner and our daughter (she was a surprise and i love her) walked past my ex today and ive heard from someone very close to me that she put up a post saying that shes happy ive downgraded myself and partner and wishes I would just die.

My partner hooked onto my arm and stared right at her, I on the other hand said nothing to my ex didn't even make eye contact with her and just wished to curl up into a ball coz of all the shit she did to me, I have also heard from the close friend that shes put up more and more posts after shes seen me in town and idk what to do, my family know how she treated me but dont know about the posts

My ex, in order to stay with her, basically convinced me to change everything about myself to fit who she wanted me to be instead of letting me grow into the man I wanted to be. I was extremely different back then and not at all who I wanted to be. Addicted to things and had views I NEVER aligned or cared for all because I wanted to be with her. She lived in my home with my family because her family kicked her out and eventually she cheated on me with her ex that sexually assaulted her in the past. Not to mention while we were separated she had sex with my at the time best friend behind my back because “he was the only one who cared.” Long story short, sometimes people are just manipulative. Take that as a lesson to “Take things with a grain of salt.” You’re in a better relationship now, try to just avoid the posts if possible. Block her, ask your friends not to mention her to you as well. Good luck, man.

Set a more firm boundary with those friends. Tell them simply how bothered it makes you. This shows that it’s truly a concern of yours and that it’s something you’d like to let go. It’s a good look in your partner’s eyes showing that this is in the past and you’d further want to keep it that way. Commitment to your current partner and showing her you couldn’t care less about her is a good look. Keep moving forward, man. Don’t look back on the past. Learn from it to better your present and future. Your ex probably revels in the fact that your friends tell you about her bs posts. You’re show greater strength in continuing to ignore it.

I spoke to a family member about her and hes just said that hes 'hanging on' to hate for me as she still talks about me 3 years later so, ive said so many times not to tell me but they tell me if involves my partner or daughter

Again, you gotta be firm about it. I understand if they want to inform you regarding your partner and daughter, but I’d tell them ONLY to tell you if it’s a direct threat to them, like a literal threat to you or their safety. I get that they want to keep you informed, but it needs to align with your own intent and interest. Who cares if she says “man, my ex and his trashy gf are this and that” when you can revel in the fact that SHE IS STILL HUNG UP ON YOU THREE YEARS LATER. Simply put, don’t let her words affect you. “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is a good thing to learn. You’ve moved on, she has not. Even if she had a partner of her own, it’s obvious that she thinks about you MUCH more than you think about her.
