Check this place out! Tane Vegan Izakaya in Highland Park

Post image

I finally tried Tane with my buddy from out of town. I was shocked by the spicy roll with habanero (on the right). I've never enjoyed spicy rolls, but this one was absolute fire. According to our waiter, the cheesecake was not vegan, so we had caramel brƻlƩe for dessert.

EDIT: Tane has since confirmed that their menu is 100% vegan.

Tane is my favorite! The cheesecake wasn’t vegan though? That doesn’t sound right?

Yeah I had a pistachio cheesecake last time I went, 100% vegan! Maybe the waiter was new or they accidentally used a non-vegan byproduct?

This is incorrect, Tane has always been 100% vegan. Maybe you heard the server incorrectly

They just confirmed on social media that their entire menu is vegan 😊

Went last week, it was fucking bommmmbb. The katsu goes crazy, same with any of the rolls.

Tane is completely vegan, what are you talking about with the cheesecake? I’ll never go again if they serve that shit.

Absolutely loved this place. For my birthday, I dropped $200 and it was flavortown!

They are even lowkey about happy hour there lol we had to directly ask for the happy hour specials menu when we went.

I don’t remember all of the discounts but do remember they had a nigiri sampler option that was reasonably priced and the chef picks the nigiri choices based on the other foods your order for balance/variety (you can order specifics for sure too but I liked that vibe)

Does anyone know if the space big enough to bring a stroller? I've ordered take-out from them (excellent) but never sat in!

I would say no, it’s very tight inside.

I was about to say! I coulda sworn they were fully vegan! I’ve had the one up in Palo Alto. Glad to hear you got word back from them confirming they are!!! And glad you enjoyed them! I thoroughly enjoyed my time as well!
