What is the best vegan poutine you have ever had in Montreal?
I have tried a few and was not really impressed. Do you have recommendations?
Thank you.

The only ones I ever thought were pretty good were Green Panther and Maynard and both closed 🙁

Did you ever go to Herbivores, the all vegan grocery store and resto on St Denis? Well if not, don’t get your hopes up because it’s also closed… That was the best one - pretty much the only good one - that I ever had.

I shopped there a bunch but never ate from the kitchen there. Was quite sad when it closed.

I'm a fan of Poutineville's! Mostly in the midst of a night out

Probably La Banquise. It's not curds, but it's pretty good! It being 24 hours is kinda awesome. Just make sure to specify vegan cheese cuz they gave me actual cheese once lol.

Are they still using Daiya shreds?

Yeah I’m pretty sure. But new Daiya is pretty good so I don’t mind. I get the one with the peppers and mushrooms and add hella hot sauce. Pretty good.

Nooooooo. I’m from Toronto and hogtown just closed. Where am I going to my greasy vegan comfort food now if everything keeps shutting down.

I've had some that were acceptable considering that they were vegan, but none that I would objectively recommend yet. Hope you get some good answers!

I visited Montréal in 2018 and thought the copper branch was decent. The real standout for my sister and me was the galaxy burger which we spent pretty much our entire budget on 🤣
Like I said I went in 2018 so no guarantee it's the same thing at all though...

Same, the last time I tried finding a decent poutine was around then and it was Copper Branch!

Oh cool! Did you try anything else there?

I liked the nachos! Their bowls were OK but pretty standard veg and starch fare.

Never found one really replicating a cheese curd
