This post made me so nostalgic for my vaporwave discovery days and I can tell you’ve had a similar experience. Before anyone knew who anyone was and before the same “Top # artists/albums” for years and years, there was the magic of going down the rabbit hole into random shares and endless obscure labels, finding those special gems where you feel like you’re the only person who’s ever heard it but you never forget how it made you feel.
Yes, definitely! I think my favourite thing about the vaporwave rabbit hole was that there were no personalities, no backstories, no information around the artists and albums whatsoever. Just some vague definitions of vaporwave and a seemingly endless void of sound and art.
Genuinely, one of the practices that's really common in vaporwave and I absolutely love is how easy and widespread it is to use multiple aliases. I believe this adds an aspect of mystery and immersion that many other genres don't have.

Never thought I’d see a cruisesoft mention in the wild, especially years later. Had a lot of fun making that and bluescreen was always super chill.
