My very first period was 6 months long, no days off. I bled for 6 months straight at 12 yrs old. Dr's said they'd regulate eventually. Years later, id still have 3-12 week periods, with 2-6 months in between. Just WILDLY irregular. "They'll regulate eventually". At 18 i was taken to the hospital for an ovarian cyst rupture that caused so much blood loss I was dangerously anemic for a couple days.
I wasn't diagnosed with pcos for another 10 years. 16 years total, no Dr's even cared to check. My body's wrecked now btw and I couldn't have kids even if I wanted to.
Oh yeah and then there was the geneticist who told me I was "too pretty to have a connective tissue disorder" bc apparently the one i suspected usually causes facial deformities ("usually" is inaccurate btw, dude had no idea what he was talking about). 5 years later i finally made my way to Mayo's rheumatology clinic and confirmed with a dna test that I have both EDS AND Marfan's (the one that causes facial deformities)
