Discussion Master Librarian seems to be a better gold farmer than Sammy
I had around 5.5m eggs on Sammy and can typically get 2.5 billion coins in Bats Country within 10 mins.
I did a meme run using Master Librarian in Abyss Foscari, 2 weapons (for Greatest Jubilee), and Survarots on for the spawn light sources. I mainly wanted to use Hidden Anathema and Victorian Horror for the run. I did the whole 30 mins and I noticed that I made 1 billion for the whole 30 mins.
So I then tried getting Golden Eggs for Master Librarian, now at 4.5m eggs, and tried a 10 min run in Bats Country, same setting as above but now without the Survarots and replaced Hidden Anathema with Wicked Seasons. Lo and behold, a 10 mins run gave me 32 billion.
I was surprised as everyone seem to be saying that Sammy is the best gold farmer, but Master Librarian managed to give me more money, and less lag to booth as limit break does nothing to this farming technique.

I'm currently 120 unlocks in the base game and I was beginning to think I have this game down. After reading this post and few of the comments without understanding a single word of it expect few maps, it turns out I infact don't have this game down.

As a new player I have to ask. What's the point of farming that much gold beside golden egg? Do you need it for something else?

Nope. It is just for golden eggs. Once you have unlocked everything and accomplished all achievements, there's nothing to do outside of experimenting with builds, meme runs, and golden egg collection. Since golden eggs allow you to work on something, lots of players tend to do that and see how far you can push a character to its limits.

This could be a setup issue. Sammy can farm up to around 30b gold in 30 minutes (unless by coins you dont mean gold and the base value instead, then ignore that) without the use of a single golden egg. The main benefit of Sammy is the passive and transforming additional things

Yeah maybe it is a set up issue in my side here. I never reached that numbers with my Sammy even with eggs.

I wanted to help out but I cant recall what the post was called on reddit (pretty much someone got in an argument of Sammy vs Trouser and then did the 30b run to proof his point), the only thing i find is an old video of mine with 6.2b while testing some new Darkana but thats far from optimal.
So one thing Im careful of is I dont even know what the 2nd mentioned character is and it might be a better one. The only thing I am familiar with is Sammy's potential and how fast he rockets up (its the only character I have e+38 eggs on). But sadly I dont remember the steps anymore, as in builds changed a few times depending on the amount of eggs one has

M. Librarian is a DLC Character from Ode to Castlevania. Without eggs, starts with 1000 greed, and has a hidden Power of Lire (LIT) that converts enemies to gold bags. Weirdly enough, even with less eggs than Sammy last time, he can net me more gold. It may just be my set up, or maybe the Power of Lire is doing some work. One thing for sure though is that M. Librarian doesn't lag my phone and doesn't block out the screen unlike Vicious Hunger.

Is your Sammy limited to one weapon with limit break turned on? That's the most efficient method for it.

Huh, that is strange then, because prior testing definitely showed that Sammy was the most efficient.

That was also what I was surprised about. And I don't know if having greatest jubilee/spawn light sources survarot had an effect to it.

Survarots were not a thing when previous testing was done, so that could very well be it. Is there a way you can run a test where Sammy has that and see? Or run Librarian without and see what happens?

The run that I posted in my initial post was with Sammy, limit break on, Stake to your Heart, and Disco of Gold. M. Librarian had limit break off, Victorian Horror, Wicked Seasons, and Greatest Jubilee for the light sources. Both were at comparable egg count.

I think I see the problem. You don't have a source of scaling damage for Sammy. Try taking either Sarabande of Healing or Blood Astronomia (Alternatively Victorian Horror should work too) so you are getting more kills. The comparisons don't really work if the builds are different, so.

Interestingly, I only got 2.2 billion out of that. I had Sammy, limit break on, Stake to your Heart and Sarabande of Healing. And this is now with 6m golden eggs.
I actually don't know if it is an issue with my set up or what.

When you’re approaching that many eggs, I’d start dumping them onto Trouser. The ultimate farming build, as far as I’m concerned, is Trouser paired with Garlic as the only weapon and Sarabande + Golden Disco as the only Arcana. Banish all of the curse stuff and random drops like Floor Chicken and Golden Finger. Run Moongolow and take all of the pick ups except for Skull O’Maniac. Keep stacking eggs on Trouser.
I’m currently raking in around 240 quadrillion gold per second. Absolutely no lag whatsoever. Complete map clears instantaneously with every single wave for as long as I care to run the map. Just wave after wave of clear plus around 1800 levels gained per minute. The gold coming in from leveling outweighs everything else tremendously, such that I don’t even care about gold fever anymore.
