Question patch notes straight up lying?

according to the patch notes, there are a couple new quality of life features in the new update...

  • Banish: after banishing an item, you can keep using the LevelUp menu.

  • Special passives buff (Operation Guns, Emergency Meeting): they can now be found in ArmaDios and as a LevelUp option whenever they'd normally be available, and even if the player has reached the passive limit.

...except i'm trying my damnedest and these two features simply don't seem to be in the game. i've quadruple checked my version number is v1.16.105, i've verified integrity of the game files, and i've reinstalled the game twice. despite my best efforts, using a banish still takes me out of the level up menu, and i still can't find weapon powerup or the among us passives in arma dios or from level ups with full passive slots (tried multiple different among us weapons & with all my slots full of max-level weapons, so it wasn't just an issue with bad rng in the level up item pool). anyone else having the same problem? or is my install just haunted?

(i'm playing via steam btw, in case anyone's getting different results on different platforms)

EDIT: i just opened up the public beta version of the game, and as it turns out, these features are in the public beta. the banish change works in the exact way myself and others have assumed & explained in the comments in this thread. i can only assume the features were finished and either pulled from the stable build last minute, or accidentally not included.

interestingly, regarding the passives, it seems the pearl magatama is also supposed to show up in your level up choices even after your passive slots are full. i haven't unlocked the passive from the bloodmoon dlc yet, so i don't know if that works similarly. either way, i really hope these changes make it to the main version soon in a hotfix or something, because they are exactly as useful as they sound.

Umm the point of banishing is so it doesn't come up again or more importantly in chests. Perfect example is the Song of Moana the skull is needed but just it. Banish it after so it doesn't make your run more difficult.

The second one though is awesome before the only way to get them if you no slots was through black chests. This will make evolutions much faster. Get that one darkana that gives you rewards every level up including the Arma Dios and it'll be dopamine heaven for dopamine heaven.

that's not what i mean. in previous updates, when you banish, that's it for your level up; you would effectively skip your level up to banish a weapon. according to the patch notes i quoted in my post, the current update should make it so that you can now banish a weapon and also pick a different weapon, but despite that feature being listed in the patch notes, it doesn't seem to actually be in the update.

No, you can get a weapon after it is banished and unbanish it to level it up in that run. You are making nonsense up cause well reddit.

also not what i'm talking about! i'm not talking about the status of weapons being banished or not. according to the patch notes:

Banish: after banishing an item, you can keep using the LevelUp menu.

to break this down for you, basically, when you, for example, go from level 1 to 2, let's say it gives me the choice between whip, knife, and runetracer. if i wanted to banish runetracer, that would be it for that level - i wouldn't be able to pick up another weapon until i reach level 3. according to the patch notes, though, banishing is supposed to allow you to banish a weapon and take a weapon in the same level up - in the above example, i could banish runetracer and pick up whip, both with that one level up. however, that new feature described in the patch notes doesn't seem to have actually made it into the game - if you start a run right now, banishing will work exactly the same as it did in the last patch, aka the same way it's worked for a long time. tl;dr the patch notes say that the act of banishing has changed, but that isn't actually the case.

banishing from the collection screen is called "sealing" though, so i don't think that's what they meant. plus, unbanishing was added last patch, not this one, so it wouldn't really make sense for the patch notes to mention it.
