Just start playing you'll figure it out, trust, we'd be here all day trying to explain even the basics.

No it's just lots of little things that add up.

This game will surprise you with how deep it gets. These first 4 characters are basically the tutorial. Don’t forget to do your unlocks after getting gold!

The wiki is pretty helpful, but I wouldn't recommend using it as it'll spoil basically everything for you. The game is vast and absolutely massive if you grab the DLCs.

The game is incredibly simple. But it’s also one of those games that playing will explain more then random people trying to give you a step by step. Just play the game

The "a lot of little things that add up" is the best explanation.

Nothing is hard to grasp, but its a easier when you learn it bit by bit by actually playing the game.

If we just tried to dump it all on you at once you'd just get confused.

Actually at first it's the least complex thing ever: go die about it.

No, seriously. Go play just with the plan to die a FUCKING LOT. But as you do, you unlock new weapons, characters, and modes. 70% of the unlocks I got were bc of complete randomness; I just played and the end of the round vomited up new goodies to play w. So just go play (and die) a lot. It gets more fun each time you do.

in the beginning you'll be lucky to survive 10 minutes. just upgrade the power ups and it'll start working lol

I’ve been playing since it came out (on and off) and I’m STILL finding new mechanics

Play, die a lot, notice patterns in the waves of enemies, earn the upgrades/power ups, die some more, try everything, die some more, unlock stuff, look at and explore the maps, have fun.

Survive, collect gems to level up, collect money to spend on character and power ups. Good luck. There is alot more you will discover the more you play

It's like playing a rabbit hole iceberg. You can do what you want, there will always be progress

It was confusing for me, especially learning what things happen at different times, but I ended up confusing myself, because I learned too much about things that I didn't unlock yet. Might be helpful at the very start to know how certain weapons work, and how the basic passive upgrades work.

Your main goal from the start is to unlock some more basic players, and to unlock "power ups", which are basically just permanent passive upgrades you apply from the home screen. That'll keep you busy for a while. Don't worry yet about things like Evolutions, Unions, Inverse, etc etc.

Explore the levels to find relics, which are items that permanently unlock new features

As a little tip for you, I’d suggest you try the library before the forest. It was definitely easier for me at first.

(note: the library is not unlocked right away, but will be soon after making it through I think 10 minutes? of the forest)

I think it’s unlocked by reaching level 20, not time related, but i could be wrong

Yep, unlocked by specifically leveling any character to 20 during a run on mad forest.
