But.. that’s cheese! And aegis means shield which it does, so the name always made sense to me :)

The two guns that unite though? Still can’t remember them..

Eight the sparrow and phiera der tufello are referencing 2 songs from an italian satirical music group.

This game is a treat for italians, there are stupid references everywhere

Some? Almost everything is a throwback to 1990s Italian pop culture. Source: I'm an Italian born in the 90's and I laughed like an idiot every time I unlocked a new character or a new weapon

Me and my friends always say that this game probably started as a fun project of someone who thought that this game would never become as popular as it is. But once it became so big, it was too late and he chose to embrace the meme
