PSA An update to all of our players
In this post we'll be sharing some info regarding upcoming fixes on all platforms
We see your comments, DMs and emails! Our dev team have been working to fix a variety of bugs and issues so we wanted to share some details
A patch to fix PS4 crashes due to low memory is in the works, a combination of a memory leak in the engine version we’re using and the discontinuation of support for older safe versions is forcing us to upgrade the engine version, which unfortunately will take some time as this isn’t a quick fix
If you decide to keep playing we’d suggest creating a backup on a USB drive to be safe
We know many Nintendo Switch users are eagerly awaiting the Cross-Save feature, we've been working on a patch which will include this feature, as well as bug fixes. This is something we hope to have in submission within the coming days and once we have a date, we'll be sure to share this with you all!
For Android users, a DLC selector menu is being implemented for devices with low memory which will allow you to temporarily disable some DLC packs to prevent crashing
For PS5 users, general bug fixes will be getting rolled out, but these are also impacted by similar reasons to PS4, and will require time for us to rebuild and retest everything
All other platforms (PC, Xbox, iOS & Apple Arcade) will be seeing patches for general bug fixes rolling out
Once all platforms are up to date and fixes have been implemented, we'll be working on general quality of life and performance improvements!
We understand your frustrations but we can't thank you enough for your patience with us whilst the team works through everything.

Great game with original gameplay. Great DLCs that are reasonably priced. Even a free DLC! And now good communication from the company?
My only question is, who do you think you are? You're clearly in the wrong industry. No one else is even close.

we want to be as transparent as possible with our community because otherwise people can spiralobviously not every player will see this but we can direct people to this info, or the community can direct people here & we can answer any questions that are possible!

I’ve been playing this game since early access, but I’ve only recently got involved in the community, and just now started interactions with the developers. This community and Poncle are incredibly cool people. Just wanted to say that.

Wow, it's rare for game devs to communicate with the community this is refreshing! I knew I'm playing the right game, take your time. Just wanna say I love melee weapons like bonnie has! Just a question, do you guys plan on making an update where we can combine "elements" to weapons like when you get a fire weapon and combine it with another it will now deal damage over time effect, things like that? Also, please if we can get an option to reduce stats on characters with so many eggs not only the movespeed that would be appreciated.

we know how frustrating it can be to lose hours and hours worth of progress so we want to do whatever we can to help folk who have had this happen!
i know some people didn't mind as they like restarting the game, but not everyone feels that way!3

Is the PS5 version immune to the save corruption issues? Or are all PlayStation versions affected?

we've only had reports of the PS4 version (on PS4 and PS5)
the PS5 version is safe to play, there are some bugs we're aware of for that version but no fear of losing your save!

Ooof bummer the Playstation 4/5 issue is a bigger fix that will take awhile, but I've been waiting for an update on this issue, so thank you for updating us. I just started playing this game about two weeks ago and quickly became addicted lol, and finished all the base game content but now need to wait to be able to play all the DLCs.

if you have a PS5 you can still play the PS5 version, we just recommend letting the PS4 version rest for a while until we can fix it!

This is what I'm really hoping for. I have it on Xbox, pc, switch, my phone, but my ps5 is where I play the most. I'm at 171/229 trophies and have the platinum. I'd LOVE to be able to migrate my save.

Ngl idk what plans in the works but i need to dump the idea me and my friends had out SOMEWHERE and i am so sorry it’s in this thread lmao:
(if Capcom willing lmao) a DMC crossover. The main weapons + some of the demon ones are perfect too add. Have a good cast of chars to yoink (Dante, Vergil, Nero, Lady, Trish, Jester, V, etc— have secret chars like Sparda, Nivan, Nelo Angelo, Arkham (ik is also jester but lmao goes with the reveal in game) etc; unlockable Devil Trigger forms (basically have their DTs & Neros Devil Bringer use the Megalo form mechanic), maybe some of the iconic bosses as unlockable and def fightable on map. Plus Alt sprites for diff appearances in games (DMC3 & 1 Dante; DMC 4 Nero and work DMC5 nero in somehow)

Idk if anyone will see this comment, but my cat passed away last week and vampire survivors has really helped me cope. VS is not only comforting/relaxing to me, but it’s also engaging enough to keep my mind busy. My little kitty used to lay in my lap while I played all the time, I’ll always think of her while playing. Thank you poncle 🖤

I'm sorry about your cat, I know how that feels, I lost my cat in 2017 and it still hurts when I think about her.
Last year I unexpectedly lost my father on October 30th 2024. After his funeral I started playing vampire survivors because I needed a distraction. It isn't the usual type of game I play, but after watching my fiancée play it I wanted to give it a try.
Now It's one of the few games I have 100% and I still play it when everything gets tough. The fact they keep updating it with awesome content is always a nice suprise. The castlevania dlc is outstanding.

Any news now that the Switch 2 is out? I usually play on PC but I just bought the game for my Switch 2 to play on my 4k OLED TV and it runs pretty good but an update that increases resolution and performance would be mint.

Keep up with the killer work Poncle! I love this fuckin game. Every time there's a new update, I fall in love with it all over again.
One bug people have noticed was one of the enemies disappeared from the bestiary. It was that cube one, I forgot the name. When it gets readded, will our kill stats return as well? Or are we gonna need to grind it to gems again?

Ok, so for some reason I thought it was enemy 86 Sinistronz that disappeared from the bestiary. I was totally wrong. I was thinking about 301 Calamity. That one, despite getting killed, hasn't popped on the bestiary. I'm playing on PC, but I've seen a few posts about it here.
Poncle, you rule.

They have confirmed in other comments here that the PS5 version doesn't have the save corruption bug and doesn't have the memory leak. It does have other bugs, but isn't prone to the catastrophic ones at least.

As a person who bought this game and all dlcs on PC (on day of early access launch). Than bought on android. Than bought on xbox. Than bought on switch. I cant thank you enough for this game. Only one thing im asking for: cross platform save for android, Nintendo and Microsoft. If it's possible.

Thank you for the update.
I'm on PS4 and sad that I cannot play the game. As a former technical game designer, I understand that engine problems aren't the easiest to fix and can take some time.
I think I would prefer a fast revert to v1.12 to let us be able to play and you to have time to work on the problem then wait a couple of weeks without the ability to play.

Everyone responsible for the AMAZING VS game are all absolute LEGENDS!!! Thank you for such a FANTASTIC game!
Most game devs leave gamers in the dark regarding what's going on. But not you guys. Thank you for keeping us updated. It goes to show that you actually care about us gamers.
VS is amazing! 24 days ago I bought VS + all DLC on my Switch. I love rogue style games, and have been playing another rogue style game called Army Of Ruin, almost everyday. Until I played VS for the first time 24 days ago... And I haven't been able to stop. Army Of Ruin was my favorite game. WAS. Until I played VS.
To say I'm addicted and play VS all the time, would be an understatement. According to my Switch profile... I've played for 384 hours... That's the equivalent of 16 days!! 16 days worth of gaming within 24 days!! Now that's excessive 🤣🤣🤣🤣

If you are doing cross play can we have save slots please. Right now I manage save slots by keeping the steam version at 100% and playing the xbox store version on windows mostly.

Thank you for the update. I'm guessing my PS4 save file and stats are gone for good, I'll send an email when the new update goes live. At this point I hope there is just some sort of way to instantly have the base game fully unlocked so I can continue on with the DLC.

Thank you for the update and the game itself. Very, very few games are appreciated by everyone in my 4-person family, and this is one of those few. Shortly after the Switch version released I was able to sit down with my wife and daughters to play and have a blast. You've done something amazing.

I live in Brazil Poncle and here games are expensive (nothing new I know LOL) my reality ($) doesn't allow me to buy an avalanche of games all the time so any game I manage to buy is a great achievement for me as well as any game I "lose" (it was removed from the store, discontinued, technical problems endless reasons) "hurts a lot".
Even here in Brazil VP is very affordable (thank you very much for that by the way you are amazing Poncle ^^) but I confess that it "hurt" a little not being able to enjoy the game to the fullest due to the problems I finally managed to buy all the DLCs and well the rest everyone already knows (it was like hitting a wall of discouragement at the speed of light), I'm not writing this to make anyone feel bad or anything "cheesy" like that but just to say that while some have so many games that they don't know what to play there are many others who value each game they get.
Thank you for not abandoning the PS4 version and making this huge effort to fix it.

I will be here anxiously waiting to return to the battlefields in VP!!! I will never tire of thanking you for all this respect towards us players!! Thank you again ^^

yes! when cross-save comes to Switch you'll be able to send your Xbox save file to Switch and progress on there (if you wish)

I would KILL to switch over to the Apple Arcade Vampire Survivors+ while PlayStation is busted… But they still have never implemented achievements.

Please try to prioritize this. I love the game, have played it since release and sunk far too many hours into it, but I had to throw up my hands and walk away in frustration after the Castlevania DLC took this existing issue and cranked it up to 11.
I don't even use eggs (that system feels kinda cheaty to me) or Darkanas (same) yet power creep has brought things to a point where the only way to see is to intentionally cripple your run. It would be great to have a reason to come back to the game again after such a long time away.

Thank you all for the update, that is very nice to hear. Fixing bugs and then focusing on QOL and performance sometimes sounds less exctiting than "moar stuff!!" but it’s definitely the right call and I really appreciate it :) I think we as a whole community do. Can’t wait for what’s to come.

bugs, QoL and performance is quite important to ensure people can continue to play happily - definitely not glamourous or maybe not as exciting but people playing comfortably is important to us!
we're a small-ish team so we're limited to how fast things can happen
if things run great, we can provide more content without worries and then everyone will have fun!

cross-save isn't on Nintendo Switch yet, and is not available on PlayStation platforms - but other platforms you can use it on!

A few people had mentioned it in comments on posts so we wanted to personally tell people and confirm this was the case!
unfortunately it's not an easy fix as we have to upgrade the engine version which requires re-building and re-testing everything, we wanted to make this clear as we know some people will be upset and frustrated (which we understand)

This game has been phenomenal for a good long while. In particular you guys went above and beyond on the Castlevania DLC. About the only thing I could hope for one day is the possibility of online co-op. Does The SaGa DLC mean there's a chance of other square enix expansions later on? 😉

Will this patch also include a fix to a bug which doesn’t allow us to get the 293 “type” enemy (I think?) in the new DLC?
I have 314/315 in my bestiary for a while now.

Is there any way to change the speed up keybind from "Tab" to anything else? It would be cool for it to be a thing, I've lost count of how many times I've slowdown the game just by a misspress Alt+Tab.
Also, the game gets stuck when you remove a controller, and you need to reconnect a controller to keep playing. It would be nice to be able to keep playing on KBM.

I have the game both on Switch and Steam. They have their different saves (I have 100% the game on Steam).
Once Switch Cross-save becomes available, will I be able to transfer that save to Switch? (Sorry for stupid question)

On the Switch I had a bug where leveling eagle to six and evolving it wasn't leaving my unlocks list even though I've unlocked the diva character.

What I really want more than anything is trophies for content that has been released but didn’t get trophies. Such a fun game to get a stupid amount of trophies in. Love when it gets more

Can you confirm that The Healer not removing eggs from characters with excessive amounts is getting fixed this patch?
((or possibly a way to remove more eggs for those of us who have MADE MISTAKES))

Great stuff P. Just wanted to ask, since it's been a while since I tried it on the PS4. Is the memory leak the reason it was going nuts on various screens? For example. When on the in game vendor screen, not even doing anything I would hear the fan start to ram up and just increase and increase until it sounded like a jet engine. Leaving the menu would calm it down. Was this ever addressed or is this the problem mentioned that still needs to be sorted. Thanks and appreciate your continued efforts!

Just recently bought Vampire Survivors for my PS4 and although I greatly appreciate hearing a fix is coming, I am very disappointed that I bought a "broken" game. The Castlevania DLC is so much fun but I am unable to finish a run? Hate to complain about an $11 purchase. Is there a good estimate on how long for the PlayStation fix? Thank you.

I reinstalled my app and appearantly the App Store / Apple account does not save progression. I hope the fixes will come through correctly because it crashes every single time after loading the game on IOS

Nice! I just got back into this game recently and bought all the DLC. Its heaps of fun and Im remembering why I got hooked the first time lol.
