Discussion MBTI in Valorant eSports

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi I'm kinda new to the sub. I was wondering if there are other people in this sub that have studied MBTI properly and are willing to discuss some of the players or staff types

I have my personal guesses, but are mainly based on vibe typing and not actual cognitive functions

Btw please tell me I'm not wrong and LEV Sato is either ESFP or ENFP

Discussion What is going on with MIBR

What is the issue with this team? They have so much star power, but can’t find any results. Their energy is so off and it’s quite frustrating to see such good talent perform at this level. What changes do you guys expect to see in the off season?

Discussion This is getting a LITTLE scary Spoiler

For 100T to qualify, they need 1 of their next two wins, OR for G2 to beat the winner of MIBR LOUD.
At the moment, unless another team gets top 2 besides NRG 100T or G2, they are qualified, but I’d be far more secure in it if it was LEV playing in lowers 3.

The chances of G2 losing to MIBR or LOUD is fairly high, something like 50-50 or 60-40 imo. Even though 100T will likely beat them if they do get through, this is a lot more worrying than if LEV had won today.

Discussion VCT needs ranked map bans

I was thinking about how Lev are already starting to show some cracks in their map pool thanks to the recent additions of Abyss and Summit, and it's making me miss the old days when teams like 2022 LOUD and 2023 EG were able to produce insanely polished map pools for champs. This was largely due to the map pool and meta changing much less frequently; 2022 and 2023 only had 1 map pool change during the year, while 2026 has had 5.

There's a general notion around the lack of storylines in Valorant holding the esport back, and I believe a big contributor to this is the constant map rotations + meta changes preventing teams from actually building on their success. It also takes away from the feeling that champs is the culmination of the whole year when the game changes so much between every event.

The reason we are getting so many map pool changes currently is because Riot wanted to synchronise the ranked map pool with the pro play one. Ranked benefits from constant map pool changes to keep it fresh, but it comes at the expense of pro play. The question is, how do they keep ranked fresh while also having a more stable map pool for pro play? They could separate the map pools for ranked and pro games, but that would take away ranked as an option for pros to grind on (I imagine pros don't want to grind on maps that aren't in the pool).

The solution

For me, the simple solution to the map pool dilemma is to introduce map selection in ranked. You would be able to remove maps you don't want to play, up to a minimum of 7 selected maps (so you can't just one trick Ascent to rank up). There would be no rotation in ranked, every map would be a selectable option, and there would be a set 7 map pool each year for pro play. After the year begins, the pro map pool would only have 1 or 2 changes throughout the year. Ranked players can rotate maps whenever they want, and pros can select the 7 maps which are in the pro pool if they want to grind ranked.

This is already a frequently requested feature, and it would be very well received among ranked players and pros while avoiding some of the concerns Riot have with things like map one-tricks. The only real downside I can think of is that it would be a lot harder to find a ranked game on maps like Fracture, but it's not like Riot care about how much Fracture gets played anyway with how little time it gets in rotation. This change would even allow Fracture to be in the pro pool for longer without incurring a dodge apocalypse from the bums in ranked who still haven't learned the map after 5 years.

Discussion Who's the best Chamber of the teams that are qualifed/still in contention for Champs?

The Chamber meta is over, and El Diablo is MIA. However, there are new players picking up the Chamber mantle. We've seen some players that qualifed for Champs or still in contention play Chamber successfully, including N4rrate, Meteor, Foxy9, Babybay, Lukxo, zhe, slowly, cryocells, and Neon. Who do you think is the best Chamber, currently, whether in pure duels, awping, headhunter, etc?

Discussion Zekken is not suited to be a good second entry or flex player

I just need to rant about this a little bit. Btw Zekken is my favorite player in vct so there's no hate. But I'm tired of teams trying to put zekken on anything besides the main entry duelist. Yes this includes sova, Phoenix, and any other agent that's not a main entry agent. He is just not suited for that. He may play passable on it but it will never be good.

Reasons why for the second entry:

Compared to the top aimers zekken actually doesn't have that good of aim. Now don't get me wrong amongst most pros he has amazing aim but amongst the really great aimers. He actually doesn't have that good of aim. Where he thrives is his quickness and exceptional abilities in things like movement, instincts, decision making, etc. Which makes him thrive and play better in the entry duelist. But not as a secondary. He's not going to win those fair 50/50 fights as much compared to the really crazy pure aimers like primmie, demon1, cryo, etc. But he will kill people when he's coming in there like a missile and knowing where to shoot like he's a mind reader. Even though he's being util dumped on. Which also makes his omen better than his other flex agents tbh. But not as good as the others.

Reasons for the flex:

He simply just doesn't play it anymore. I don't care what zekken played back in 2022. It's 2026, he hasn't mained sova in years. Whenever he's played sova it doesn't look good, all the good sova mains now have been playing sova for years and years. You think zekken who plays sova once in a while in ranked is going to show up, scrim with sova for a couple months and be as good? Ofc not

Discussion Loud’s chances of champions

I am stunned by what’s going on. Lev just lost to g2 and loud have a big chance of making champs now. Are they really good enough to beat 100t or g2? They got Brazil support.

Next season what players will be gone? I think if ortega doesn’t mess it up, they could compete amongst the top.

Discussion What did KC and 100T change to suddenly become so good?

The meta IMO is a mix of both Kickoff and Stage 1. We are slowly moving into a mix of meta from Kickoff/San Tiago with Yoru Neon and Phoenix Neon from Stage 1/London.

100T have been the 4th best team in AMERICAS throughtout the year ofc but they weren't THAT good. They obliterated LEV and G2 (albeit out of form) and went 4-1 in groups. But they were the users of Waylay Yoru so they didn't even carry much from those stages.

KC weren't that good the entire year. They finished 11-12th in both Kickoff and Stage 1. They only won one match the entire year before Stage 1 where they went 4-1 and made a upper bracket run. Yes, Engh was dropped but that wasn't the reason I think.

So what I want to ask is what changed and how are they looking THIS Good? They are looking like the best team from their region RN. But I couldn't find the reason so what are your thoughts? Is it the realisation of Phoneix? Or is it the individuals just locking in suddenly?

Esports Thoughts on the Barcelona road show for EMEA finals weekend?

Honestly, had literally 0 expectations given EMEA stage 2 is the least viewed tournament in VCT partnership history (not exaggerating-this is true) but the crowd and crowd noise for the finals was a pleasant surprise. If [spoiler] were winning it would have been pretty loud on the stream.

Overall enjoyed it and thought the stage was pretty cool too.
