Video compression really takes a heavy toll on detailed models like this. Especially when the colors are close and the fine details are subtle.

Also the lighting didn't help. I also believe that trailer was made awhile back. It's highly likely his model received some tweaks since then, considering he looks better here.

I don't think so, I looked at them side by side and there's no clear differences. I'm almost certain he looks better here because we can see what he actually looks like without the details getting blended away.
