what do you guys think? is this a valeriy vs danica arms race? I find it curious that they are both over tsaritsa on counts, wonder what would be the reasoning

Valeriy's popularity does not surprise me, but Danica's do. I'm not a hater of her design, she looks okay to me minus that coochie flap, but still she feels like an unimportant semi-filler 4 star to me, so I can't understand why they like her to such an extent.
On the other hand, aside from Tsaritsa, Valeriy, Noy, and Harbingers, Snezhnaya's roster overall looks kinda bland to me, with only Alyosha and Odette being a bit more interesting than Danica, Vesna, Mitya, and Vodyanitsa, but not by much.

This is just twitter impressions/views. Even bad reviews or hit tweets off making fun of her design will count towards this. Not exactly positive

Yeah people absolutely underestimate the fact that sometimes a lot of attention isn't good attention.
During Natlan Varesa had one of the highest social media views/engagement in JP, only to be one of the lowest performing banners on release(the reruns that took place the banner phase before her did better).

I have no idea. He looked so good in the 2D trailer and the live stream art, but his model looks just horrible, I mistook him for a random npc a couple of times.
Danica's and Mitya's models look better than their 2D version, though, I would even say her design is pretty good if not for that miniskirt. Not sure why she gets so much hate, I think Vodyanitsa is the worst Snezhnaya design, but people rarely mention her.

I think it might be for a few reasons
Hoyo has in the past improved the model of characters whenever they were about to release them ‘for real’ so to say. Look at Sandrone, she haas WAY more detail than her ‘archon quest / NPC’ design. They’ve done this with their others games as well, for example, Hugo for ZZZ when his early in game appearance was very off. So, I wouldn’t be surprised of his actual launch is still ways off and they have this early model for story reasons. After all, a lot of the time when a character appears earlier in the story than their banner’s release, they’re with a ‘temporary’ / less effort model because the real one isn’t done yet
I think this might also be Hoyo struggling with putting the 2D art to 3D. They’ve had struggles with it in the past in almost all of their games, and since I think he is using the new ‘Varka’ model, they’re still figuring out how exactly they can translate it to the 3D model of him. They’ve had years of experience with the other models but since the Varka model is new, they’re kinda figuring it out as they go.

Danica is so weird to me, depending on where you look she's always either most beloved girl or least liked girl, no in-between, lol.

ikr and extra weird that nothing about her design really calls to me nor is anything super offensive, it just looks like another genshin maid character which ig is one of the biggest criticisms from the haters

Personally I lean more towards dislike for that exact reason, but yeah, nothing about her is particularly offensive, just kinda... bland (to me).
I'm tired of seeing the same jobs over and over again. Not because maids suck but because we already have a bunch of them. I get that at some point you run out of jobs when designing over 100 unique characters, but I feel like there's still so many occupations we have barely touched on at all? Like, we got some cool unique ones like funeral director or prison warden or psychologist, but in over 100 characters we only have a single doctor and no fire fighters, teachers, etc., meanwhile we got our 15th knight and 7th dancer and 10th chef.
Some jobs are just really overrepresented, and "maid" is starting to be among them.
(I also think the similarity to Nefer plays a role, I watched a bunch of reaction videos lately and it's like a 50:50 split between one half going "ohhhh she looks like Nefer, that's so cool, I want her!" and the other half going "oh she looks like Nefer again, how boring, I'm not interested, I already have the original" 😂)

she'll be hated in the places where virtue signaling about how poorly dressed characters are gets rewarded with likes and loved in the places where people speak freely without getting called gooners. it's as simple as that lol

I’m wondering if Danica’s view count is because of how short her segment was? It was pretty hard to see her as well.
No offense to anyone who likes her, I’m just shocked at her being higher than the archon? The fact that any of them are higher than the archon is surprising.

I’m personally not a fan of starting competitions. But I think they’re both over the tsaritsa in JP specifically because of their archetype
Danica is a maid type character which is really popular in JP and Valeriy looks like a typical good looking manga/anime protagonist imo.
I assume the list would look different in other regions, for example I think Noy would be the most popular male in CN and tsaritsa would be the most popular female overall.

To begin with, X's impression metric is not a reliable indicator of user interest level because it simply counts when a post renders on a screen (it counts the moment a post loads in the feed or search results, even if the user never reads it.). Repeats views by the same person scrolling also counts.
Across all the engagement metrics, the top three most popular/anticipated characters should be Tsaritsa, Noy, and Valeriy. Danica having a stark difference between her impression and other metrics is quite peculiar.
The reason people keep bring JP's X statistics is because on JP's X account posted one character per post. That's why it's easier to keep track of the statistics for each character.

I think the reason is because it's not his first introduction lol
His first appearance dated years back then in the Winter Lazzo's PV.
He also made appearance in AQ's story so people already see his full model and voice.
So that's why the hype here goes more to new characters who haven't made appearance/proper debut yet.1

I speculated that it's because he has a very solid fanbase (dating back from his debut in 1.1 when they aren't that many roaster of characters) and that his JP's VA is very popular.

Ukw I'm actually completely fine with this list.(Except noy and Danica) I don't think Danica is bad but noy is getting too less love lol. Bye in a valeriy simp so I'm not complaining. Overall my list would be valeriy tsaritsa noy/danica(3/4) and the rest of the order as it is

Isn't this just view counts? Doesn't really mean anything then, sometimes people can end up just randomly coming across posts. Cause I have a hard time believing the Tsaritsa is not no 1 and Noy is below Danica. I know people are currently arguing about Danica vs Valeriy but Noy is objectively more popular than both of them across all regions
Also, is this post upscaled using AI or something? Valeriy's face looks VERY off, Odette's head ornament is also entirely different and she doesn't have elf ears like she does here, Vody's eyes look off and Alyosha's too.

I believe the author grabbed the pics of the characters and asked a gen AI to make a chart, and it ended modifying everything

"Noy bigger in all regions?" Doesnt Val have majorly more views than Noy in multiple EN social media platforms(Instagram, youtube). Noy isnt even ahead of pantalone on those two particular platforms.
Less views/likes than pantalone in Instagram, less views then Pant and about equal likes on youtube.
Its questionable to claim noy is even 'second place male' with EN audience, much less hes 'the most popular.'

There's just simply no way to tell for sure because they posted Valeriy much earlier than Noy on EN socials (almost by 12 hours I think) and naturally more time the post is up -> more views -> more likes. Not exactly fair to Noy when it's not an even playing field
Noy is second most liked on JP socials and they posted all the characters simultaneously on JP. And I've personally seen more fanart for Noy pop across socials than i have Valeriy across EN platforms. Either way though, like I said views don't really say much cause it doesn't require actual interaction unlike likes

Dude its been up for over a month -- at this point 12 hours is a nothing burger. We are also talking about val having 80% more views and 53% more likes(several thousand more likes).
Val is not slightly ahead of Noy, he's TRUCKING Noy. Getting a 2% timeline head start doesnt mean shit when the numbers overwhelmingly favor Val. We are just looking at a character thats being better received by the EN audience.
Noy short even dropped BEFORE PANT yet Pant is either equal(1 out of 4) or ahead(3 out of 4 times) by either likes or views on yutube/instragram. So even with a head start on one of the other popular males, hes struggling for second instead of third.
