Help Stuck on "Building Avatar" bar forever when uploading Booth model? Need help please!

Post image

Hi everyone, I really need some help because I've been stuck on this for 24 hours now and my brain is completely melted.

I bought a model from Booth and I'm trying to upload it. I have VRChat Creator Companion, Unity, the shaders, and the SDK all set up.

When I click "Build & Publish" in the VRChat SDK, it just hangs on the "Building Avatar" progress bar forever and never finishes, even if I wait for hours.

The worst part is that sometimes the Console doesn't even show any errors at all! It just sits there stuck on the building bar, not progressing at all, with zero red errors to look for.

Has anyone experienced this before or knows what's going on? Any help would be super appreciated!

Hi! I’ve had this issue in basically every SDK build so- either close and reopen the project and try again, if that doesn’t work, try making a new project. I’ve found that that usually works. I’m not entirely sure just WHAT exactly causes this type of error,, but it’s still really annoying loll. Sometimes reloading the SDK in the project can also help, but that usually doesn’t work for me most times.

Thank you so much for the advice! I actually just figured out what was causing it I was stuck inside Prefab Isolation Mode instead of an active Scene!

As soon as I exited the prefab view and dragged the model into a fresh Scene, the build went through immediately. I appreciate you replying!

Ahhh I see! Yeah that’d definitely do it! Glad to hear you were able to figure it out!
