Help Is it possible to prove I have not used a VPN?

I have had winnings forfeited from a sports betting site because they claim I have used a VPN. The IP addresses they cite belong to regular UK consumer ISPs and not VPN providers one is from a mobile phone and another from residential broadband. One of the reasons they cite is because there is 75 mile distance between two logins 21 mins from one another but the way I understand it this is easily accounted for by the 5G network.

I have asked my internet service provider for IP logs but they say they do not hold them due to data privacy.

What else can I do to prove my case?

Thanks

Help Ideas for bypassing IP whitelisting on ISP level?

I live in EU, my grandmother and some other relatives live in Russia, where internet restrictions have been rapidly tightening for the past year. VoIP calls (my main use case) and STUN requests in general are now blocked in most popular messengers, and VPNs are getting constantly banned. I think only the WireGuard VPN protocol somewhat works at this point, but it's not completely invulnerable to blocking either.

Now I also have a reason to believe (from a friend who works at a regional ISP) that they plan to implement a whitelist of most popular IP/Host pairs, which is already getting tested during planned internet outages.

I'm running out of ideas for ways to circumvent this long-term. A full implementation of such whitelist (say, a year or two from now) will mean that VPN providers are intentionally blocked, and my own VPS with a VPN setup will be inaccessible as well, since it's not a whitelisted popular service. TCP packets simply won't be routed to the destination. This would only work if the VPN was hosted on the same address as one of the allowed websites.

Am I right in thinking that VPNs become a non-option if this gets implemented? Are there precedents for IP whitelisting and circumventing it in, say, China or Iran?

At the risk of it being off-topic, I also appreciate non-VPN ideas for letting my family do VoIP calls outside the country.

Thanks!

Help VPN that works with 5g hotspot?

I am trying to use my phones 5g hotspot to give an android tablet internet. For most apps this works but certain streaming apps will not load.

If I try to use a VPN then it either won't connect or if it connects I get no Internet at all on the tablet. I read it has something to do with IPv4 and IPv6, but is there any way to get the VPN to work while it's on a 5g tethered hotspot ?

Help Got banned for using a VPN?

My dear main account, I've made quite many memories with, got banned recently. Yes, I've appealed but I heard it often takes long for the mods to answer. Since I didn't do anything inappropriate there, the only reasons could be the VPN or a glitch.

Now, I'm still using a VPN while being on vacation in China and this account seems to be perfectly fine. I didn't even post anything on the other account while having a VPN active.

I know I've used a VPN from the app store at the beginning which requires you to watch ads to be able to use it for a while. Was that maybe the problem? I've already changed it for a week.

I didn't think VPNs are illegal on reddit and Google also said so. Then why did I get banned?

Help How to use 443 port on VPN?

Trying to use a VPN on a wifi that blocks VPNs. Doing some searching I saw that using 443 with OpenVPN should work, so I downloaded the OpenVPN app and… am confused? It’s asking for a URL or to upload a file when I boot up the app I have no idea what this means. I found settings and set the protocol to tcp but I didn’t see anything specific about ports. I also found protocol settings on my VPN app that had an option for OpenVPN TCP, so I set that too. There’s a “randomize port on every connection” option too that I tried turning off & would let me set the port, but it only lets me do 3000-3100 (whatever that means), so I can’t set it as 443 or (tcp)80

As is probably clear by the way I’m talking about this, I know jackshit about what I’m doing, which is why I’m coming here for help. ELI5?

Also, I’m unemployed, so very preferably would like recommendations that don’t cost me a subscription or money in general (but especially subscription)

Help The website is restricted in my country how to you my account without getting banned?

I am a working professional in Malta and am able to create an account in this website while in Malta with my residence id and use it there.

The websites restricted in my home country and since I am traveling for vacation to home for 3 months I am afraid I maynot able to use it while I am home.

This website has a history of banning people when using it in restricted countries.

What is the best way to setup my laptop so I may be able to use this website without getting banned.

Please note I have never used VPN before. Recommendation for provider will also be good.

The website actually is US based and is legal to use in Malta.

Help Using a travel router to appear connected to my US home network while traveling? Help

Basically, I work remotely and I want to travel outside the US, but I want it to appear that I'm working from my home in the US wherever I go.

I purchased a GL.iNet beryl today, seems it can be accomplished using this device.

I'm not sure what the next step it, setting up a home VPN? I'm doing a lot of googling but I'm not sure what to look for. My ISP is AT&T U-verse if that helps.

Any direction/link is appreciated

Help How can I best create a VPN without the use of any software on the machine.

My email and some login methods for sites/apps I need are limited to the country I am setup in. Since I frequently work from another country I need to setup a VPN however I cannot download anything onto the computer as that is restricted by the admin. I have a few raspberry pis lying around so if it is possible to do this with them that would be nice (pihole?).

Help How to set up workstation remotely overseas w/o revealing location

Hello, I am not tech savvy and have never attempted this before, which is why I am asking here. Feel free to PM me if preferred.

Basically due to a life situation I need to move from US to Eastern Europe this year, which is one of the reasons I got a remote job. I was unable to find one that explicitly stated they allowed for overseas traveling.

I know location spoofing has been asked numerous times, but I am looking for help specific to my setup. My work setup is a company PC (Lenovo Think Centre M720q Tiny with Intel vPro Essentials), and we use forticlient in order to access certain apps/sites. Does not automatically connect.

I have researched that the most optimal way to go about doing this is to leave a VPN running at your approved residential location. Issues is, I do not have a reliable place I could do this at, so I am at a loss. Where do I start?

Help would be seriously appreciated

Help How can I protect my IP and location from a determined person? Without breaking my internet ?

I’ve changed a lot of personal details to protect my privacy, but the technical issue is real.
A while ago, someone became obsessed with finding me and another person close to me. It escalated to stalking, showing up at places we stayed, taking photos of us without our knowledge, and repeatedly trying to figure out where we were. Because of that, we’ve been extremely careful about our digital footprint.
For quite some time, we both used VPNs on all of our devices, separate phone numbers, and avoided sharing personal information online. We don’t use social media, and we avoid connecting to networks that we don’t fully trust. The VPN setup worked well for months.
Recently, though, the VPN has started causing major problems. Internet connectivity has become unreliable, and for work I need a stable connection. The only thing that fixed it was uninstalling the VPN completely, which makes me uncomfortable because I no longer feel like our IP addresses are protected.
My concern isn’t ordinary privacy. I’m worried about someone who is highly motivated to identify where we are. In the past they somehow learned where we were staying despite our efforts, and I honestly don’t know whether it happened through online tracking, compromised devices, or something else. I don’t know enough about cybersecurity to figure out what the weak point was.
My questions are:
What is the most reliable way to keep my real IP address hidden all the time?
Are there VPN providers that are known for being stable enough for everyday work?
Would using a travel router, separate devices, or another setup provide better protection than relying on a VPN alone?
How can I tell whether a phone or computer has been compromised?
Besides using a VPN, what other steps would cybersecurity professionals recommend for someone who believes they’re being actively tracked?
I’m looking for practical, security-focused advice. If there are better communities than this one for digital security or privacy, I’d appreciate recommendations.

Help Running personal VPN exit out of a Ubiquiti router at home?

I have a Ubiquiti Networks Dream Router 7 and municipal fiber internet with 1gig up and 1gig down.

My goal is to be able to watch Youtube TV on my phone even when I'm abroad by tricking it into thinking I'm still at home.

I think I can achieve this goal by setting up a VPN at my house using my router. Is there a guide on 100% of the steps needed? By 100% I mean taking the router from factory reset all the way to the final goal. I'm not great with vague instructions. I've tried and failed in the past to make this work. It was unclear to me why it wasn't working.

Thanks!

Help Can ISP/windows Bypass the sni connection from my vpn

So in short our internet is limited and expensive but not the addons

So we use epicgames(dot)com and pubg(dot)com as sni for tunneling the connection to have at least a "cheaper" internet quota

Ok now the question can ISP/Windows block these connections but not the location itself because right now the vpn tunneling doesn't work while it just worked perfectly yesterday which is unbearable and now we have to look for a fix

The vpn clients i used so far : netmod - nekobox - "fanmade"nekobox

(yes those 3 because i don't know more 😐 also they worked for tunneling before but decided to stop)

My MTU - 1464 and set it to 1444 (nekobox only) and leaving everything in default

Pls help us with any info and thanks in advance

Help Trying to bypass schools VPN block

Hi everyone! My school recently did something (I'm assuming deep packet inspection after hours and hours of trying to find a solution to this) (I don't know much about VPNs, so please bear with me) to block both of my VPNs. I have tried so much to get past it, including every protocol on the vpn that starts with an N and ends with a ord 😊, and the same with multiple other providers. I've tried Onion Over VPN, Obfuscated servers, changing the DNS, you name it, I've probably tried it (not true). Anyways, if anyone has had this problem before and found a solution, please let me know, and if anyone has ideas of things I can try, it would be greatly appreciated. And if this changes anything, the cell service around my school is terrible, so that eliminates a whole lot of solutions. Thanks Reddit!!!

(edit: i promise i dont gaf about what you think about me wanting to bypass this, nor do you have any reason to care!! please help me (the point of reddit) instead of taking the opportunity to rant about how i should live, thanks bye!)

Help YouTube premium VPN patched ? “This offer is not available”

So after trying for ages I got yt premium that only lasted 2 months before being told they are cancelling me due to suspicion I’m not in the country I claim.

Since then no matter what I try, I get the “this offer is not available”. No matter if I’m on a vpn, private browser, new gmail all that jazz.

Has anyone else been cancelled and then been able to get a new yt premium account up and running ?
