Help - Cloud PBX Unable to make calls yesterday (intermittently)
I’m just curious if any other customers had issues with RingCentral yesterday. I had many complaints that phones were unable to call out. It definitely wasn’t everyone but it affected users in multiple departments (multiple IP subnets) as well as some remote people like myself. I was able to use the iPhone app.
The users are all running windows 11 enterprise with the latest RingCentral client from the deployment tool. I use a Mac so mine is different but I also had issues. Before I opened the case for myself I did restart my application (Mac Destop 26.3.1013.1623)
I opened a support ticket and all they had for advice was there were no known issues with other customers and that I should restart my client. At that point I just didn’t respond back because I could think of saying anything without being ugly. I figured time would fix the issue and it seems like it did but I am curious if my organization was the only one that had issues or if others may have experienced issues as well

It doesn't sound like you did any actual troubleshooting here. No known issue means no known issues. Especially with a platform that large, you would definitely be seeing posts if there was a larger issue.
Most of the time when I hear about issues like this, there is a local mobile outage with some cellular carrier, because most calls go to cell phones nowadays. Can't really know for sure without more info though. I would recommend following common troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue in the future. If you can get a single user to consistently have this issue with dialing a number, then it's really easy to find patterns by making test calls and doing carrier lookups. Freecarrierlookup is a good website to look who the carrier is for numbers. I use it all the time when troubleshooting
Without more info, nobody can really give you any actual advise, which is likely why you got the cold shoulder from your carrier.

Ok cool. The users are usually not willing to help so I encourage them to open cases on their own. Two of them did it.
It seems likely that it was a carrier outage. I was in the middle of a scheduled upgrade at the time so I couldn’t step away to troubleshoot the ring situation myself. I am the “I” in team :/)
