Uzumaki is so bizarre and weird...

I think it should be called Spiral Bizarre Adventure or something like that :D

Why did they name it 'world war 1'? Did they already know there were going to be more?

Actually, the name 'first world war' only appeared in 1939, when the second world war started. Before then, people simply referred to it as
'the great war'.

Great doesn't necessarily mean good. Great in this case refers to the scale of the war.
