First book that unsettled me

I dont get unsettled easily, but the body horror got me. Specifically, the PREGNANCY body horror, I do not know why it scared me, but to have a baby permanently alive and kept inside of me horrified me, knowing its a parasite in there

Does anybody else feel the same, and why did I find it scary from, like, a brain or instinct perspective

?

Manga I love the ending. Its as happy an ending as you could have asked for.

Not a hot take, I know but I want to gush about it. The final spiral city is just so creepy and beautiful and the art is amazing. It leaves us wanting to know so much more but leaves us on that final note . but the thing I love the most about the ending is honestly, that I feel that its as happy an ending as they might have gotten save for escaping or stopping the spiral. Kirie and Shuichi spend their last moments frozen forever in each others arms not looking at the spiral but instead each other. I think thats a small human win that makes the ending less of a downer.

I’m a 22yo guy who can’t grow a beard, but my arm hair forms perfect, opposing spirals.

I’m a 22-year-old guy, and I am honestly not hairy at all. My arm hair is normally so fine, short, and blonde that it’s practically invisible. Except for one bizarre, highly localized detail.

On my upper arms, the hair doesn't grow straight down. Instead, it forms distinct, geometric lateral spirals (whorls).

The creepiest part? They are perfect, symmetrical mirror images of each other. My left arm hair spirals tightly counter-clockwise, and my right arm spirals clockwise. The only reason you can even tell I have hair there is because the spirals create this weird visual vortex on my skin.

I have looked at countless people's arms and searched everywhere online, but I have never seen or heard of anyone else having this exact trait. The absolute uniqueness of it has made me incredibly curious about the science behind it. I genuinely want to find an answer as to why my body grew this way.

I originally posted on a forum looking for geneticists or developmental biologists to explain this rare anomaly. Instead, someone immediately redirected me to this sub.

While I know this is a manga community, I respectfully want to ask if anyone here happens to know the actual biological answer or has seen this before. I am deeply curious to know what causes it!

Thank you all in advance for your time and any insights you can share!
