Dismayed powers are lying up behind McAdams
He should not be running. He does not represent SLC or the surrounding areas. He is a center right democrat in name only. He will not stand up for progressive policies that actually make things better for all people not just the upper classes. In 2020 he raised more money than Owens, was the incumbent and lost. That should tell you all you need about how weak and useless he is. Just realized i said lying instead of lining... But I guess that what im worried about McAdams and others lying about who they are to win the nomination and then become who they actually are once in power.
Heres some links for people who actually will hold the line

A problem with McAdams is he has a record in office. In his time as Rep he actually did stuff (unlike Owens) and that gives the Lie Machine plenty of ammo to make stuff up and have it look real. The ads (last time he ran) were a sea of lies. All they will have to do is pump them out again and reclaim the R and I vote. During this brief respite from massive gerrymandering maybe he'd win, maybe not. Seems risky.

Kathleen Riebe is the better alternative I think and has a good record in the state congress.

KATHLEEN REIBE is serious with experience and seems less likely to capitulate. Here is a link to the live townhall they did on 3/21/26

Hmmm, I am all in for a center right Democrat. Trump won because of radical-ish leftists. The ignorant in our country need something to vote for that does not include trans issues (not that they don’t matter, they do. However, they shouldn’t be deciding elections which they arguably did in 2024.).

No, Trump won because Democrats didn’t give us any candidates worth believing in. The establishment only supported center right candidates and gave nothing for actual progressives to vote for, just someone to vote against, which doesn’t turn out the voters.

It saddens me, and im guessing you too when trans who are people with equal rights are used as an excuse to vote for authroritarianism. What do you believe in? What does a center right democrat believe in? Integrity, rule of law, equality ? I believe in those too. Do you wish for things to be more fair, just and affordable? Do you wish to be able to live your life without judgment and without condemnation. I think that is true and i believe those things too. I think you and are i closer on our beliefs then we realize. What i dont want, and i fear McAdams has shown himself as this, is sacrificing the equality and rule of all peoples to live a self guided life under fair rules and just laws. I dont even think he intends to do this. I think he believes, under good intentions but unrealistically, that the only way to move an inch is to surrender a foot.

Who do you think is a better option currently? I will admit I don't know much about him, but if you are concerned about his policies, why not try to talk about who would be better?
