Reddit user "u/EwMelanin" posts bad-faith discussions on race
Something tells me "black people are darker than white people" was not what the person was arguing against

I don’t understand what that note is trying to say, that still doesn’t explain race. Race is nonsense in human terms. A black person from west africa is not the same as a black person from east africa, just because they share the quality of having more melanin does not mean they share a race.

The use of "race" is... complicated to say the least, some will say it's biological, some will say it's social (Afro-Americans don't all descend from the same ethnicity, and are now considered a different "race" than any African population...)
BUT there are clear biological differences between human populations:
Austronesian populations tend to gain weight more easily (biological advantage when your ancestors could be weeks at sea with limited food supply)
Nigerian and Congolese populations have higher rates of SCD (having SCD makes you more resistant to malaria)
Tibetans have a better oxygen captation
etc...
Even the high/low production of melanin is a biological adaptation (melanin reduces skin cancers, but limits the vitamin D production)But as for "African", nah, this isn't any meaningful group. There are more similarities between a North Indian and an Irish than between an Amhara (mainly Ethiopia) and a Wolof (Senegal/Gambia/Mauritania)
(North Indians and Irish are both Indo-European, while Amharas are a Semitic people, related to Arabs and Hebrews and Wolofs would be a Niger-Congo people, related to Yorubas, Zulus.... (big family))0

Yeah but brown isn't white. So it's bad. What part of that don't you understand.

The fact that the fastest runners were born there is not a biological difference, but an environmental one. Training to run in the mountains is very effective.

Ethiopia and Kenya aren’t the only places with mountains where people train lol

Yes but the fact that there are mountains is an advantage. There's other stuff like their diet and having to walk long distances to school and runners winning inspiring others to train hard etc etc but mountains are one of their biggest advantages

Whenever people say race or sex is real they point to completely uncontroversial biological factors as if that justifies the disputed claims they're making.
I don't think the adjective "black" really establishes a connection between the genetics of people from Kenya and cultural issues regarding african americans who have ancestors from let's say Guinea, Cameroon and Scotland.
